i agree with power flow. one thing he neglected to mention about the rubber bumper is that it requires an adhesion promoter before the sealer, not to mention cleaning of its mould release agent.

yea mike, youre right. there is no clear. its just single stage in a jam that won't exactly be exposed 100% to the elements and become prone to delamination. i guess it all depends on the manufac....

well, i presumed correct. listen, that clay bar of yours isn't going to help. all of that must be sanded out. prime then paint. i don't condone paint malpractice, so that is all. peace.

well i was under the impression that your clearcoat had begun to breakdown and flake away. i really don't know what were lookin at here. so try the clay bar. if that works out, great. problem solved.

i would say that option a. would be your best bet. you can run into alot of problems reclearing, such as contamination, more dirt, runs, etc. Lets not forget about the unecessary material waste...

if you plan on sanding the hood by hand, i suggest using a rubber block. its designed to enable the user with smoother finishes with its flat contour. 3m makes one for about 3-4 bucks.

i think in response to orange peel, ha ha go figure, anyway. orange peel is caused by lack of air pressure. i usually spray clearcoats at about 45-50 at the wall. I then fine tune it from the gauge...

this operation requires dang near perfection. runs, dryness, dirt. all of which cant be sanded and buffed out because of the absence of the clear topcoat. you/ve got to be a good painter to pull it...

dang, that was some argument. i personally wouldn't use a roller myself. maybe rollon primer but never the color coats. i believe diamont by r-m have rollable primers. i have never used it tho....
