Here is my Project that i just finished the paint on. i am still going to cut and polish but it turned out really good,
The entire car was stripped to bare metal. so i knew exactly what i was painting over
I blocked the doors and fenders to the car so the line up prefect and straight all way through
I painted the inside of the Carbon Fiber Hood, and the Engine Bay is already complete. it was sandblasted primmed and painted
Tell Me What you think!
The front bumper i cut the mesh out ofthe three vents and shaved
I welded up the Atenna Hole on the A Piller, and skinned the trunk lid

I see a few runs a bunch of peel but other than that good job!

The run's on a easy place to cut it down though. The peel is minor, too much fluid coming out of your gun, if you adjust it down a little it'll be fine.

Looks good, Pictures are to big though.Please make them smaller my computer almost froze a couple of times.and load slow and I have dsl lol.

You laid down the paint nicely, but when you paint colors like this you should've placed the doors and other parts on the car because the pearl isn't going to be laid at the same angle, and you're going to have nasty tape lines in your jambs.

Sorry about the pics, the run was a a bad mistake i got 4 coats of clear thats why the peel is a bit bad but im going to polish it all out, I put the clear on a bit heavy for polishing, that was the only run. but i was able to get the car dont good with no malting or stripes. little one on trunk but most people wont see it.
Im happy how it turned out. th

i thought peel is caused by not having enough pressure...thats at least what I've been told

when you dont have enough pressure it wont be a even spray causing the orange peel, but also if you try to spray the paint too thick there will be orange peel so both of you are correct, he needs to either lean out the spray or he didnt have enough pressure..... or both haha

i think in response to orange peel, ha ha go figure, anyway. orange peel is caused by lack of air pressure. i usually spray clearcoats at about 45-50 at the wall. I then fine tune it from the gauge at the gun. for those true painters out there, you can just hear it, na mean? by the way, is that the orange from the lambo? i love it.

Lack of air pressure sure isn't the only thing that can cause excessive orange peal. If you do know your guns the sound and feel will tell you.

It depends on your gun. On my Iwata I shoot around 25-30 with the trigger pulled. I usually don't touch the pressure after that and adjust my fan width and fluid accordingly.

Lack of pressure and too much fluid = peel. Key word being too much fluid, you can adjust your gun to compensate for lack of pressure by turning down your fluid output.

I always though peel was caused by having too much material and it not atomizing nice enough to lay out evenly...

that would have been nice to know when i was adjusting my devilbiss finishline, first time i had adjusted a gun myself and I got a lot of peel. I think i was spraying at 23psi, but my clear coat tech sheet said 40 at the gun. whoops, so that with a lot of fluid=orange peel

man thats not a bad paint job if your still learning how to spray. it takes some practice man just learn how to adj. your gun and forget about the runs that **** happens to everybody when they first start learning. you get a from me for d.i.y. btw next time try to keep the panels on the car if your painting a complete
