Any compustar folks on here?

I used to be more active on this forum many years ago. I purchased 2 compustar CM3000M alarms many years ago from a dealer that frequented this forum. I installed one of those alarms in a vehicle I...

Re: Amp choices

That's not entirely true. While I agree the older amps are better. The reason some of the newer amps are smaller is primarily because those amps are class D amps. Which are more efficient which means...

Re: Cause for Alarm: How Not to Get Jacked

Never understood the title. I think what is worse is that it gets repeated.

Re: how do thieves bypass car alarms?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This can't be said enough times. Cars are wired the same everyone knows this. Now the problem is 80% of the alarms are all wired the same. Believe it or not most car shops...

Usually I order my parts from www.digikey.com or www.mouser.com

I've fixed many amps 70% of the time people blow out the switching power supply transistors. With out the proper tools though you...

Ya that line gets me too. I always tell them sorry I'm only accepting food stamps at this time. Just a tip Ponyboy I wouldn't accept a certified check without going to the bank with them. The second...

Re: What is up with the market for nsx's?

I think a lot of young kids expect to see the NSX depreciate like a civic or an accord. What they fail to realize is the majority of the depreciation already accured. They are now at a pretty steady...

Re: Compustar CM6300

An input to the alarm is a signal the car sends to the alarm.
Example: door trigger- there is a pin switch in the door that supplies a ground (0v) when the door is open and +12V when the door is...

Re: Compustar CM6300

Splice into the factory wires. But judging by your questions you should ask yourself if this is above your skill level. I'm not trying to be a jerk but it sounds like you have no electrical...

Yes I installed one in my monster truck because I had nothing else to put it in. The other is still sitting in a box brand new. The cars I bought these for are long gone. The cars that replaced them...

Re: Main Relay Kill

Since the purpose of this relay is to shut down the fuel pump and fuel injectors in the event of an accident its a very reliable kill. Although alot of Honda's have issues with the main relay when...

That's a myth. I could bypass it easily.

Has someone tried to actually steal your car and not just break in?
Unfortunately judging any security on the fact your car hasn't been stolen is a...

Re: which amp should i get?

I have one of their amps it has problems. The problem is that you pretty much are stuck with going to JL to have it fixed. Which they typically charge 1/2 of what it cost to buy new. When a simple...

Re: Main Relay Kill

Its a trade off do you want an active or passive kill? One is more secure then the other but you are giving up convienence.

The downside of of active kills is they require the alarm be operational...

Re: which amp should i get?

Generally I like JL audio equipment. However I'm not a huge fan of the amps. Well made yes, but they are essentially thow away amps. I say this because they use multi layered PCB's. They also use...

Re: What is up with the market for nsx's?

Really depends on the condition of those cars. A lot of the lower prices you are quoting are either high mileage, salvaged title, or just in bad shape.

I would think a 91-93 in the 50k mile range...

Re: What car alarm to get??? Too many to choose

Agreed cant really go wrong here

Not bad alarms but they don't offer anything that cant be found in a DEI alarm that is better engineered IMO.

I know nothing about these alarms.
