Re: how would you know if you have a bad tie rod?? (FLCivic)

Do you suspect a bad tie rod? If so, why?

Usually, you go from symptom to cause. It's doing (or NOT doing) this... to... maybe it's the so-in-so. A bad tie rod would be a cause. What's your...

Re: timming belt slippage? (VTECNLUDE)

It could be just about anything from a marginal coil to a dirty fuel filter or clogged injectors. Like themi6group asked, have you changed anything recently?

Doesn't sound like a slipped T-belt,...

Re: Problem please help ???? humming noise (DeDonDeRosa)

Also, hub bearing noise will usually be the bearing on the side opposite the turn. That is, the right side bearing will usually make the noise when you're turning left, and vice versa. Also ,...

Re: Need help bad about my O2 Sensor... (kay_animation)

Doesn't make any difference. Whether it's the sensor itself or just the heater, you'll have to get a new sensor.

Yeah, treat it like a brand new engine for 500 miles or so. Let those new rings break in right.

Re: Need Help 86 Honda Accord ? (Brodie)

The idle problem sounds like it may be the temp sensor -- on Hondas, they frequently die "cold." They'll start out at around .5V for a cold engine. As the coolant warms up, the voltage will rise...

Re: head bolt question? (ispteg)

Personally, I'd go with new factory.

If you're goin' with aftermarket stuff, follow THEIR torque specs, NOT factory.

Re: timing belt noisy after install???? (prjctCIVIC)

When you replaced the T-belt, did you set the tensioner to so-many ft-lbs, or something? The tensioner adjustment should put the right tension on the T-belt.

What kind of a noise are you hearing?...

Re: Engine idle up and down constantly after warm? What's ??? Where to start looking??? HELP!!! (ci

I have a "feeling" it's not a vacuum leak, unless it's a VERY sneaky one. Vacuum leaks TEND to mess things up REGARDLESS of engine temperature -- tho' not always.

It sounds like it MIGHT be one of...

Re: Honda Vigor fault code 33 (kiwirob)

Code 33 is not a code used on Acura Vigors, so this code must be unique to the Honda Vigor. You might want to check with Akiya (http://homepage.mac.com/akiya/vigor/index_e.html) in Japan -- he's...

Re: Looking for Acura Vigor daily-driver, few questions??? (NSXFoYoAss)

Yeah, that's a fair price, especially if you can get the owner to throw in a new T-belt and water pump.

Very reliable car. Like CC2 said (nice name for a Vigor owner!), there's not much out there...

Re: why does IAC Valve need coolant flowing to it? (J2turbo21)

The IAC has coolant running to it so it can control the fast idle speed of the engine until it warms up. Then, the valve closes and it should stay closed until the coolant temp drops to "cold."

If...

The ECU varies the injector pulse width (open...
