Yes, PY attracts bugs more than other colors, and yes, it's because insects are attracted to colors that are found in flowers, like yellow.

I've noticed this when I wash and wax my PY ITR. Same...

It also helps to know in advance what you're going to be feeling the first time you're out on the track. The instructor will be trying to tell you about "the line", which is the place on the track...

I like the GS-R shift knob much better; its shape is much more ergonomic. And you can get a new one for ~$35 at your dealer.
