Default Be aware of Sh!ft !

Well i had him find a trans for me to buy and he was going to rebuild it for me. So he finds it i pay for it and the shipping to him. Also send him a wavetrak lsd to instal. Pay for carbon synchros do to being a track car and wanted to last. Puts everything together and sends it to me and i put it in the car and will not go into any gear. Take it back out and try it again nothing at all. Call him up and he says maybe i forgot something. Tells me to send it back to him . There goes a 100 bucks again. He claims he fixes it. I get it back. Put it in the car and it goes into every gear but second. Drive the car maybe 10 miles and still no second. Go drive it again it goes into second and shoots it right back out and grinds. Didnt put any pressure besides normal pressure on it. Then go off to school and call him and tell him about it. Claims everything is perfect . Tells me to take it apart and he can walk me thru it. Wtf thats why i paid u to build it u freaking idiot. So i come home from summer classes yesterday and pull the trans. My friendbthat works at honda now helps me rip it apart to find out that he used brass ssynchros when i paid for carbon ones. Second gears looks perfect same with the sliders. The synchro is broken tho. They were synchrotech. They are broken due to a shitty instal. Which he claims to be a trans god. All in all i text him and tell him and of corse its my fault. Hes a scammer stay far away.

as of right now i have a b16/type r both rebuilt. i just sent out my last gsr, but what are you planning on doing with your car? is it straight track or dd or a combo of both?
well what id suggest is mabey b16 123 and ls 45??
shert aside from the final drive and the lsd in the type r, they are the same. carbon syncros are(my price) 245.00
i can get the lsd's 645 SHIPPED. i dont have to pay taxes on any of my parts and i get discounts as well. the syncros are 245 SHIPPED, and for the labor i will charge 400. thats to install the lsd, replace each gear you want, add the syncros, add new bearings and seals(i cover the cost of those), clean the casing and put it back togeather. shipping is 120

OP did u speak to anyone who vouched for his work? What made you believe he knew what he was doing? I also find it odd you wouldnt have taken it to a shop that rebuilds them & saved on shipping..

Sorry to hear about your nightmare...Been on Honda-tech for years and have seen these types of things happen time and time again. You got to keep an eye out for those fly by nights out to make a quick buck and bounce. Have seen companies and so-called trans "gurus" come and go. Always look for legit vouches!! Pm'd you some info and hope you get your situation resolved asap.

Well the reason why i didnt go to a shop was because i was living at my grandparents apt over the summer away from where i live to make better money during the summer. I didnt have anyway to get parts to or from a shop due to not having a vehicle where i was staying at. I also for some reason trusted this guy because at firat seemed like a very honest person and replied very quickly to all questions asked and blah blah. I made a big mistake and now have to bite the bullet.

Misa bone - what brand are those and how did yours break?

Mine did not break there it broke on the bottom of the tabs an the friction cone thingy the tabs were broken also. From my readigs it was a install error but who knows. I still got scammed like some ****.

Sorry if my spelling is off I have to use my phone because my computer died due to a virus. This hasnt been a good year for me lol .well ill look on te bright side it can only get better. I just hope more people dont get played like i did.

It sounds like he didn't have the friction damper tabs or the outer 2nd synchro aligned properly when the shaft was pressed together.

That synchro broke on its first hard pass in a 10-11 second SOHC. I deleted the folder of the pics of the rebuild kit I used.

ok lets get this straight, you bought this transmission from me back in last year, you since then have not said a word to me about anything. up until about a few weeks ago. what do you expect me to do? im not saying i am right or you are wrong, but why wait this late in the year to mention anything about it? as for you going to another shop and having some one else opening the transmission, i cannot trust anything you say. i have a very strict policy about people opening transmissions i build.

as far as the carbon synchros go, are you saying that i used all brass synchros? or just the second gear synchro brass and the others carbon? please explain. i am at a misunderstanding. i clearly remember speaking to you over the phone quite a few times, and we had the transmission shipped back and fourth about 2 times if im not mistaken. so there is clearly something missing here. if i put a synchro in incorrectly(that was brand new) why did it break on its 1st pass on your car or who ever's car it was? as far as the tabs not being aligned correctly, there is only one way that i know of installing them, the right way, as well as the little spacer gaskets that center the gear(s)

again ill state this. even if these were my synchros that were installed and they were BRAND NEW, how did they break? this is where i am concerned. ive built transmissions for people with cars that were pushing WAY over 600 hp and i have not heard anything from them. period. ive had customers send me their transmissions back and i fix the issue free of charge and send it back. again, no complaints. what makes you point the finger automatically at the person who built the transmission?? have you opened it before you installed it to check my work? have you had any one else open it? there are things aparently that you left out in your complaint because you waited this long to contact me about it. why not call me the DAY it happened? my number has not changed.

let me ask another question. not that its relevant, but isnt a scammer considered some one who does not send parts after receiving payment? you got your item as described, you were not happy with it, returned it, and i fixed it. 6+ months later you make a complaint against me saying im a scammer? if you are going to bash me about my work that is one thing, if thats what allegedly is the scenario here. but a scammer i am not.

Sounds like a mis-alignment issue. It's happened to me once before and learned my lesson. Both of you guys should agree on something. Yes it is B.S. that the Synchro broke, but lying to the buyer about installing Carbon synchros is a no-no. Hope both of you can agree on something.
