no FWD is weird, and it's sad that you see that econobox layout as the norm and RWD as taboo.

step 1. wake up early in the morning and dress really nice.

step 2. find a friend with a "nice" car

step 3. borrow it and drive to the local porsche dealership

step 4. pretend to be interested in purchasing one

step 5. take it for a test drive

Loan me the $$ to buy a real porsche... and it would be worth my time. I prefer to test cars under controlled conditions.... but won't borrow friends cars on track... and I REFUSE to do stupid **** on the street. So really testing that car won't work.

well if you want more experience driving RWD, i don't know if you do or don't give a ****, you can go to a raicng school and either take a 3 day course or a one day "drivers experience" course, driving a mustang, corvette, or viper depending on the school. they also have purpose built formula cars which are fun to drive around the track, i did this at infineon and recomend it.

I went to the event and I absolutely LOVED it. I had a blast. At the beginning I was horrible but after a few hours I was one second away from the lap time on the miatas, not bad for someone who had never auto-xed before. I can't wait till next year to do it again. I REALLY want RWD right now

No offense, but one second is an eternity on an autox course.

You should try autoxing with your local group, and I wouldn't be surprised if you can get within much closer than a second next year.

I went to the one in english town today with eL and it was pretty fun. The test drive of the RX8 was fun but short. The only really good "course" was the performance test with the miata. Man every time I got into one of those miatas it smelled so bad of burning clutch.

I did the Englishtown event today. I was 2nd quick for my hour when I left. Target time was 30.000 and I ran a 30.103 or something. The new Miata get's from me. Great balance even on way, way overheated street tires. Azenis are the only tires I've autocrossed on including both RevItUp events in the past 3 years or so, but the Yokos felt as greasy as my Azenis do toward the end of a half hour track session. It was fun though. According to Mazda, Jinba Ittai is a Japanese term that means "horse and rider as one". I learned today that it actually means "keep the ***** in the bowl"!!! I managed it on my 1st try and I was within 2 seconds of the target. My friend later set FTD for a clean run on that course. I think Keith Casey had FTD on the Challenge course. It was cool to meet Stu Hayner there too. I talked to him about World Challenge (since I've crewed for one of his competetitors) and about the pros and cons of left foot braking. He told me he never left foot brakes because he used to do endurance races and they would throw you off the team if you LFB'd since the brakes wouldn't last the race if you did.

i did the ETown one today. I got a little pedal happy in the Miata and spun it, lol. It was great, my mom said she had a heart attack cause I didnt move. Then I got back out and whipped it around again, did ok, except for that nice spill.

Did shitty in the match time, I got a 27 it was 29. My mom was in the passenger side she was telling me to slow down, I gave out a crazy laugh.

I know you did...

1) Couldn't spend the whole day.. got there at 9:30 and left at 1... had to be in Springfield for 6-7pm.
2) Had the wife with me and she wanted to play with cars too (she doesn't auto-x... finds it boring... althrough she's good at it)
3) See #1... 9:30 was the earliest I could get there.

I should have gone through gate 4 1st.. signed the waiver then gone over to ZoomZoom live becuase then I would have been able to get back and forth through the gate without issue. Oh well. They wanted the $12 for the wife and I to get through to the NNJ event.

John, see above. Same goes for me too!

We had to be at a party in Queens Friday night, stayed at a relatives in Brooklyn, we were up until 2 AM, showed up at E Town around 11 AM, left around 3:30 to go prepare for spending 3 days driving all over the state of PA for some of my wife's residency interviews. It's been a hectic week.

Was it an NNJR event? I haven't done one of those since you guys used the front parking lot that Mazda was in!
