Default Using Koni Race 8041 1153 Shock EK Civic

Hey guys,

Seems that Koni doesn't make the 8041 1213 Race shock for the rear of a 96-00 EK civic. They told me that you can just use the 1153 92-95 EG rear shock with two spacers between the shock fork and the LCA.

Anyone running this setup? Just wanted to make sure that this is the correct information and whether there's an alternative.

Thanks

Yes you can do it exactly as you describe, a friend of mine with an EK hatch is currently running the DC2/EG 1153 Race on the rear of his EK with the stock lower control arms.

The EG lca bushing is slightly thicker then the EK's (thus the EG's shock fork is slightly wider) so you'll need to use a washer on each side of the EK bushing to take up that space. It's pretty commonly done.

Thanks for the info guys, just wanted to see how common this was.

Once I get the shocks, I'll get a spacer machined up to fill the gap between the LCA and the shock fork.

Hello,
I've a 2000 Civic Sedan and I've found a Koni 1153 from an Integra, I would like to know if I can use on my car.
Did you use it on your car ??? What is the size of the washer used ??

Thank you.

IIRC the EG lower damper bushing is 50 mm long while the EK one is 40 mm. This means you'd need two 5 mm spacers per damper.
Better to measure it though!

Koni will provide the exact spacers you need. At lease when you purchase them new.
