Relocating Battery -- Trunk or Floorboard?
Whats the general thought on relocating your battery on a front wheel drive car?
I originally was thinking to put it in the trunk, but if I put it behind the passenger seat, it would be a good 1-1.5 foot lower(closer to ground). If I put it in the trunk, it would be around 2-3' father back vs. behind the seat.

Personally, I'd sacrifice the 50/50 balance to have the heavy stuff located in the center of the car... but i think most people put it in the back.

Mine is in the spare tire well, no spare, but better distribution and plenty low... It actually made a very noticeable difference...

It's always better to concentrate vehicle mass as much as possible towards the center and down low. Put it as close to the front seats as possible. I'm sticking mine right where the rear passenger seat used to be, sunk down in a battery box with the top just above the floor pan.

i find that hard to beleive. i've never moved my battery so i have no real world experience, but i have a hard time beleiving even Schumy could feel a .75% change in weight distribution.

*edit* of course, my butt dyno isn't very well calibrated so it could be i'm talking, um, out my ***.

I moved the battery in my prelude and it made a very large difference - of course, in a prelude, the battery sits up agaist the headlight so that might be more pronouced...
turn-in was much quicker, and I had to re-adjust my headlights - they pointed up noticably higher.

In a 94+ Integra/92-00 Civic, I see no need to relocate anything as it sits right next to the firewall on the passenger side. All you're doing is adding more weight with the 2 gauge cable you now need to run and affecting balance very minutely.
Just buy a lightweight battery and leave it where it is IMO.
The Prelude has a huge oem battery and it is as far front as possible. I can see benefit to moving it in that case.

I agree with Tooddd000.
But behind the seat seems to be even closer to the center, and lower, so I vote for that location.

agreed. i bought a batter that is 1/3 the weight of stock, and kept it in the stock location. works for me

A search on lightweight battery in this forum will yield the magic thread.
I now use my bling bling moroso blue box for tools, oil, a fleece vest and misc. other stuff like tire pressure gage, etc... its kinda nice having that crap secured in the hatch and not rolling around my floor panels and glovebox.

Agreed. I'd rather have weight as low as possible.

Its almost neccessary to relocate it in an EF CRX or hatch as well. It sits right next to the intake arm and is just in a bad location.
