AJ Hartman has this piece: Hood vent - AJ Hartman Racing

Have to take a look at the measurements and see if it would work. Wonder if he would be willing to work with some people and make an non-CF piece if it would save $$.

And then there is the Shelby GT500 hood vent, which is like $80.

Damn, for $450 I'd be looking at a nice cf hood with vent already built in.

Shelby vent sounds most reasonable.

At this point, that's what I'll most likely do or the GT500 vent. Found this write up -- I'm assuming this is the general idea you used Spenc?

the cut

the template for the inside angle

setting up

trying to keep the resin smooth.

underside

done (not pretty)

added a wick up front to create the vacuum to pull the air out of the rad

if i had known how to work with resin better, i could have made this pretty. i ended up painting the resin on the outside of the hood black. i was gonna wrap the hood to match the roof (red, black, grey and white camo) but i got lazy.

also, i don't have to glass it in if u don't want to. i bolted the wick in with 3 small angle strips. the back piece could be bolted int he same fashion i'm sure.

Spencer - Is the goal to help with cooling, reduce lift, or both?
