Default DL1 MK3 Data Logger with powerful live processing - New for 2011

http://www.race-technology.com/dl1_mk3_2_31002.html

From the site:

The DL1 MK3 data logger is a highly configurable and powerful logging instrument. Whether you want to do a few track days and analyse your data, or if you are professional racer looking to add logging and a configurable control system to your race car.

Powerful onboard processing - perform calculations live. The results can be viewed live (on a display or video), not just in post analysis.

Timeslip can be calculated live and displayed directly to the driver, showing exactly how much faster of slower you are continuously - not just at lap and sector markers.
Sensor data is processed directly by the unit rather than having to be processed in the dashboard, VIDEO4 unit and Analysis software separately.
User defined channels used to perform maths functions on the live data, e.g. combine 4 wheel speed sensors to show if the average speed of the front wheels is higher than the rear wheels, showing spin and braking lockup. This can be displayed live to the driver, overlaid onto a video, or logged for analysis.
Review your braking points and overall grip with the built in 2g 3-axis accelerometer, optional 6g 3-axis accelerometer for high down force applications.
Switched outputs for advanced control of vehicle options such as pumps and fans. The control can be simple or based on a complicated equation, e.g. turning on a cooling fan when temperature is high and speed is low.
Up to 12 analogue and 4 frequency inputs to connect sensors such as: wheel speeds, steering angle, damper pots, brake pressure, engine sensors, etc.
Extensive automatic logging control, making sure exactly the required data is logged.
Get the most out of your engine by logging information from your ECU*.
Measure your drift angle with the gyro option.
Unrivalled accuracy with our 20Hz GPS option (5Hz standard).
*ECU adapters available separately, see list of compatible ECU's. OBD also available.

it would be nice if more of these systems had interfaces into hondata, neptune, ectune and other odb based honda standalones.

this system definitely looks good and at a great price, i would just love to find a system that could also work along side my ectune.

Anything is possible with time and money….LOL

I just thought that I would add the existing DL1 does support logging the data from a serial obd interface. Now you need a serial adaptor to add on to the basic unit and according to the knowledge base it does support the following standards:
• J1850VPW
• J1850PWM
• ISO9141-2
• KWP2000 (ISO14230-4)

From the little I know about the ecu’s that you listed above they are all based on the stock Honda code base which operated at a non-standard baud rate. That would likely be the reason no-one supports them out of the box. However if you convert the baud rate then it would be easy to interface.

The DL1 analysis software is setup primarily to improve you as a driver and as a secondary feature it can record external inputs on the car. I am not sure what you want to log from your ectune but chances are you can log it directly which has the advantage of a much lower latency. The DL1 or most any logger also has a significantly faster update rate than you are likely to get on the serial interface to a Honda ECU. On the other side of the coin the serial ECU interface does make things simple to connect.

Some of the sensors both stock and aftermarket I have logged are:
Oil Temp aftermarket sensor
Oil Pressure aftermarket sensor
Coolant Temp stock sensor
Intake air Temp stock sensor
Battery voltage stock
TPS stock sensor
Brake stock sensor (switch)
Steering aftermarket sensor

If you are just logging for engine development they strap a netbook in the car and log with that. It's cheaper!

Just thought I would add a little food for thought

Looking forward to having the Mk3's available. The more powerful processor will enable real time math channels and the output circuits open up all kinds of possibilities.

FYI, if you want the continuous time slip, currently only the DASH4 is capable of displaying it.

Can't wait to play....
