Civic EG road race suspension questions (did a search.. answers not there)
On my civic race car, i currently have the standard Koni yellows with the GC kit 450F/600R... When i got my shocks the rears didnt fit because it turns out that in my region (middle-east) all hondas of the 88-95 era had the same rear LCA (the stamped steel one that comes on the Integra Type-r and 88crx) so i had to get the shocks modified to fit. Now i am ordering new shocks, the race Konis and will also upgrade to 800F/1000R springs.
My question is will the Type-R shocks fit an EG civic if it has the Type-R LCA?
And the other question is regarding spring length mine are currently 8" in the front and 7" in the rear. I cant find 1000lbs eibachs that are 7" long but i can locally get 1000lbs that are 8" long. Can i use an 8" spring?

You know you can send your struts your using now to Koni and they can rebuild them to the Race spec instead of buying new struts all around? This way you'll save half the money your going to spend on Race Koni's.

Re: Civic EG road race suspension questions (BRN12345)
To the OP, the only difference is in the lower mounts and all other aspects are the same for valving, lengths and upper mounts. Since you are not in the US, having the shocks that you have revalved might not be as easy as it is here.
The 8041 XXXX RACE shocks are made specifically for the US market so you may need to buy them directly from a US vendor. If you have the cast I-beam contol arm needing an inverted U-clevice on the bottom, the part number is 8041-1153RACE. If you have the stamped steel contol arm that needs an eye at the bottom of the shock, you will use 8041-1164RACE. Those shocks have the much stronger valving specs and are 25mm shorter on the body and 40mm shorter on te emaximum extended length than the normal KONI Sports. In the US, the revalve would be about $150 each and shortening would be $72 each when done at the same time.
If the KONI importer in your country can have your shocks revalved, I would be happy to share with them the valving and length specs so they can do it right for you. Just have them contact Lee at KONi North America and I'll get them the info.

Re: Civic EG road race suspension questions (CRX Lee)
Many thanks for all who have answered my questions. I would get my current shocks revalved, but the rears were cut and rewelded to covert from u joint to eye type and i would rather have an unmodified shock. Also, shipping them out to get revalved would be too costly.
CRX LEE, I currently have the 1153 sport in the rear but i had to cut the U-clevice on the bottom and weld the eye from the stock shock. I have since figured out that in this part of the world we never got the cast I-beam control arm and all civics are the stamped steel version. Therefore my logic is that i would need the 8041-1164 shocks that are made for the 88CRX and the Integra Type-R.
The Koni importer here doesnt know a Koni red from a Koni yellow, i think if i talk to him about revalving he would have a heart attack
