Has anyone done rear quarter panel and rocker panel rust repair. I mean cutting out a good chunk and putting in new sheet metal. I've been looking into doing it. Just not sure if the car is really even going to be worth it, or if I should just find a shell and swap the motor. Any suggestions or comments welcome.

Get a shell unless you do fabrication for a living.

I am more of an electrical / motor guy. Not much fabrication or body work experience. It will be easier swapping tranny and motor and Suspension parts than doing the body work?

I wouldn't say easier for someone who has done it before. Is it hard, no does it take patience yes and a mig welder..

It will be way less work to learn to weld (non structural parts) then to swap shells. Assuming you don't live in a really rusty area though
