Any theft prevention on the car when it was stolen? Even a little can go a long way for a car that normally isn't high theft.

Speaking of methheads, I let some girl use my phone last night in renton by valley medical. Begged me to drive her some place and promised me $300 worth of dewalt power tools (stolen no doubt). I asked why her face was bashed in and why she had hospital discharge papers...lol told me she tried to steal some dudes car he left running and he beat her up... granted she was a **** lesbian or looked the part at least. then she admitted to having been in possesion of meth and I said bye bye at that point. Tryin' help somebody with a phone call and end up with a crazy person.

hooray for thieves.

Don't let strangers borrow phones. That's how phones get stolen. Think about the value of a lot of those phones. Now they have $300 in their hand and sometimes they just run.

My phone is a beat-to-crap slider from 2 years ago. It texts, calls and has internet. It does what I ask it to without frills. About to get the new iphone under my plan's upgrade thingamabob. I try to help people out when I can cause I believe in random acts of kindness but if she did run I would have tackled her ***. I was with friends as well and in a public area so I didn't think it was all that risky. until she openly admitted to stealing cars and smoking meth...

btw, back on topic-ish anybody ever seen honda baitcars around the sound? I'm pretty sure I found one this summer near dash point all alone in an empty parking lot late at ngiht. White dc2, clean and tasteful mods, gsr leather seats, sunroof popped, doors unlocked. Nobody in sight.

Do bait cars ever have mods though? Most I see on television seem to be stock cars with just the bait technology.

I would think with police seizures / impounds they would have access to good quality "attractive" baitcars although I agree most youtube videos I have seen have been plain jane stupid cars or trucks.

Well if someone attempts to steal my car i hope they're prepared to die. Once again, i live in Idaho. Ive actually seen several cases in the last few years where people are either killed or beaten severely while trying to steal a car and the person defending their property didn't get charged.

Yeah I love that WA is a stand your ground state. Boy, what a shame it would be if a thief came at me with a slim Jim...... some ******* tried breaking in my car the other night. Tried the coat hanger trick, dumbass hit my window switch instead of lock.... set off alarm and he ran. By the time I was out there with the 45 he was way down the road.

LOL at all the firearms talk in this thread. "Stand your ground" is ALOT ****ing different than shooting some piles of **** fleeing once confronted.'

Carjacking? Different story... You may dump in their face untill they stop twitching.

If not in eminent danger though You WILL go to jail, you MIGHT go to prison. Youll probably lose your rights (and at the very best have to fight to get them back) Trust me. The trend is its getting better... But you BEST be justified or you WILL get ****ed. Dont say **** to the cops. Get a lawyer, In fact if you carry... Even own you should have already had this conversation with an attorney. Have him on speed dial.

Tell you what... Fire your **** at some ******* you catch stealing your car while theyre trying to flee, hit them.. and have the police involved. Let me know your visiting days and ill put enough cash on your books for you to buy a bar of soap so someone else can **** you instead of you ****ing yuourself, thinking you know the law.
.

Dont get me wrong. Its the kneejerk raeaction for sure (IMO the right one). Ive been there, done that.... I got lucky...

YOU CANNOT FIRE AT ANYONE leaving the scene of a crime. PERIOD. they must pose iminent danger to your (OR ANOTHERS) life. I suggest some read what the laws are, this aint texas.

A car isnt worth 10 years in prison. Be smart... Above all else be safe guys.

:O)

Haha he was persuaded by that $300. No one would give anyone $300 for a ride.. The funny part is, he was still interested after hearing she tried stealing a car. Could of been yours next... Best not to pick up strangers. Unless they offer you candy glad you played it smart.

About thuggers. If you're worried about getting jacked. I'd avoid it all together. Why put yourself in that kind of situation? I figure it's the people that worry the most that it happens to. I'd go buy something stock and call it a day.

the problem is. typical car owners dont know the law and what they can do.
in some cases they got in more trouble for pursuing and hurting the thiefs in the process.

and even less carry a piece on them.

on the other hand thiefs are nothing more than criminals and they dealt with the law much more than typical person does.

plus if you refuse to have thiefs as your friends you would not have any froends if you own a honda, u be on your own prety much because i can guarantee almost everyone knows someone who steals... thats just how the game is, you in this honda world, theft is part of that world. you switch to european cars or any other cars its a different world with their own problems.

so people that know the law.

what can we do when someone tries to steal the car?

i just think its stupid that we cant protect our property with whatever we have at hand, and to prevent future attempts you cant just watch them leave cuz they come back next week, unless they get hurt and remember.

I never was going to give her a ride or support her in anyway besides my phone. I try to help people out, usually ****s me in the *** but a good deed once in awhile might keep karma off my back for awhile, idk. She was sketch as hell and was super uncompfortable around her. lol I forgot all about that night. super sketch. the 300 bucks didnt entice me, I know damn well 300 bucks isnt legit.

and xlnog, good too see you post here too. I see you in the "official" thread often as well as myself. and you're right, you cant just ***** nilly shoot people for stealing your car. there was a guy in fife (i think? maybe spanaway?) a few years ago where a kid stole his sub outside his apartment. the kid was running away and dude popped him throgth the skull with his 7.62x54R M44 mosin nagant. killed him like *that*. made the news. In wa if theres a real danger or direct threat to your life we're blessed with 'defend your castle' doctrine unlike cali or other lame states but yeah... ***** nilly shooting people stealing CD's and change out your ashtray will cost you tens of thosuands of bucks. just beat the **** out of them! most chill cops wont include that in their reports if they are legit thieves or cover you.

And my DC build is on hold for now, too sketched and looking into other less desireable models (swapped crx, ef sleeper etc) other other makes altogether. love looking at them on the street and at shows but just too scared of somebody taking my hard earned stuff. dont want to be paranoid about it.

I have an alarm on my car, but i'd still put some lug locks, and steering lock. Better safe then sorry. With that included I park my car right in front of my window with a baseball bat near my door.

I agree with TSXepert tho. Put some stock stuff that's clean and thats it. The more you show off and catch attention, the more your cars a target.
