HID dies every 5 minutes
I retrofited the FX35 projectors on my 93 civic, and I am using a 55w HID system. After every 5 to 8 minutes my driver side head light goes off, what could be the problem?

If its digitally controlled it could be overheating. I would go get a cheap infrared thermometer and carefully watch how hot the inverter gets before it turns off. If its over 150 degrees or so, I would be suspicious of it overheating.
Other than that I dont know what would cause it to turn off, and work again later.
By the way, if you dont have one already you can get those IR thermometers really cheap from hobby stores (like $30)- they use them for the small nitro engines.
