Hello! Nick from Oregon
Longtime EF hatch lover, and now first time owner. I lucked out and came across this clean title 1990 Civic Hatch Si last week. The car was originally sold in Portland, Oregon in 1990 and spent its whole life there. This is literally a "grandma's car" because the same lady owned it from new, and took very good care of it until she could no longer drive. The car was then sold by her son to a guy here in central Oregon. He owned it for a month and a half, but decided he wanted a truck instead. Somehow it sat on Craigslist for 4 days before I saw it and moved in.
The seller as it turns out was my barber when I live in the next city over for about 2 years. He never title the car in his name, so on paper this car is going from the original owner of 25 years to me. I also have the original title issued back in 1990 that I requested back from the state. Apparently here in Oregon a car needs to be at least 25 years old to request the title back for souvenir purposes. What Luck!
As mentioned the car was not only well taken car of, but I got the entire service history along with the car. This car literally went to the mechanic for EVERYTHING. It looks like every piece of paper associated with this car is there. From the trade-in evaluation of her '78 Datsun 510 at the time of purchase, to the window sticker, to a copy of the check the car was bought with, to the tape deck instruction manual. All there, and every service done! The car does have flaws though, and being a big city car it has a number of scuffs and a ding here and there. There are some other mechanical things I hope to get some input on in the other forum areas. Overall though I can't believe how well preserved and document this car is.
The guy who briefly owned the car before selling it to me put the cold air intake on the car. This is soon to come off and be replaced with the original air box that came with the car. There are a number of cosmetic issues I'm going to address on the car, and I intend to leave this thing exactly how it is. IMO it's just too well preserved to be changed.

Hi
So I been having trouble starting my honda sometimes it starts fine others it cranks and cranks and it just doesn't seem to fire. Since I changed the ignition coil it seems to conk out on me now while driving
So what I have changed is
Fuel pump
Fuel filter
Spark plugs
Distributor and rotor
Ignition coil
Air filter
Sea foamed through gas tank
Resoldered the main relay (but I have never soldered before)
I'm going to try
Ignition module

What is the year and model of your Honda? Are you getting any error codes? If so, what code(s).

Hi, My name is Bill. I joined this site to help my son figure out what is going on with his 2003 Accord EX. Something keeps frying the ECU and it goes into limp mode without throwing any codes. Been through at least 3 ECUs (2 since we bought it). With a new ECU is works for about a day before it goes bad.
Going to look through site now, will post a thread when I am able.....
Thanks.....

Hello all, long time reader. Figured I'd say hi from East Texas.
This site is the best, always good up-to-date info and forms are always active.
My DD is a 2008 2dr civic ex/R18 with basic mods.
Wpn R header & mid pipe.
Egr delete.
custom 2.5 stainless exhaust system with OBX fatty mid and main mufflers.
diy front lip.
full tranny to **** aluminum shift bushings with short shifter.
Aluminum shifter base bushings.
custom turned brass shift ****.
fujita SIR with custom megaphone filter mount.
2 inch drop springs.
16 inch rota torque rims - really really light.
blue LEDs inside.
motor damper.
Bradid clutch line.
hand-made Dimond plate aluminum pedals.
I hope to go boost with forged r20 bottom end this year and add some refinement to the rest of the car.
LSD.
Final drive gears.
full track spec suspension upgrade.
full race turbo kit.
I'm a fabricator of many years and have built a few motorcycles so I hope to do as much as I can.
why keep the old R18???....got 215k on chassis and 20k on the 09+spec replacement block... been through it all in this car. Nuff said.
Sorry no pics, I'm on a tablet and I don't see the option. ..it looks normal anyways. ..

Hello from Arkansas!
Just joined the ranks of the Honda world with a completely bone stock 1999 Honda Civic Si. It has a few niggles that I am going to have to work through (not all that unusual for a car with 131k miles).
I have never owned a Honda product before... But the Civic Si was always a car that sat in the back of my head.
The day started out as a really bad day. I drove for 6 hours to look at what was supposed to be a perfect 2002 BMW 325i w/ only 83k miles to find a complete ruin... When I got home I pulled up craigslist and typed in "Civic Si" expecting to see another list of 10 - 20 thousand dollar newer Civics, and a couple of older civics with either a quarter million miles, or were completely ruined.
Before me was a listing that had been up for less that an hour for a stock (those are getting hard to find) Civic... The lone picture showed what appeared to be a pristine little car, for what I felt was a price that was too low.
I immediately called the guy and scheduled a meeting with the guy and after discussing payment I promptly pulled out a stack of bills and paid for it on the spot.
The drivers side window scissor is broken, and needs to be replaced.
The outer tie rod end on the drivers side has a bit of slop.
Tires have very little tread on them.
Passenger front fender has a nice big crease in it.
Other than that the car appears to be in perfect shape! I am freakin CHUFFED to bits about this beautiful little car.
I will get some pictures once there is some light in the morning.

Howdy, got a relative's 2001 Accord that has yet to pose for the 123,456 mark. However, hail-damaged enough that NASA is considering landing missions.
Already tinkered but it's all new to me, even the make.. prior to this my newest car was a 1990.
[has automatic, but technical questions go elsewhere. I has them. something about clutches and levers]
Already Mod: Icelink-iPod adapter, extra cruise switches, considering oem junkyard woodgrain upgrade. Still having difficulty locating car in parking lot or wondering if I broke some time barrier as I pass myself..

Re: Member Introductions
Missed this stickied intro thread so I'm gonna grab some stuff from the one I made in the forum, because I'm lazy like that.
I've just bought my first car last week, after quite a show it ended up I couldn't switch the ownership over right away; amongst other issues I ended up towing the car from where I bought it to a field at my brother's girlfriends house (just within the 300km tow limit).
Fast-forward a week and I've had the car appraised/insured and gotten a used vehicle pack to get some history on the car, and am picking up my plates later today.
So without further adieu:
My 1994 Civic LX Special Edition, 1.5 D15B7, 5-speed. Car has 221xxx km on it, completely OEM stock (minus maintenance components of course) even came with a relatively new cat and exhaust. I'm quite excited as I think this is a great starter car, I wanted an EG but still wanted something different; didn't want to have any mechanical work to do to make the car roadworthy and also something that'd insure okay. I think I hit the nail on the head here.
Car has no issues minus a small leak in the AC (I think, no freon) and typical Honda Cancer on the rear quarters, which I intend to get back down to good metal and seal with fiberglass until I'm all set to actually re-place them. Either way, just thought I'd throw up an intro post to get that post count started, looks like a great repository of information around here; and worry not, I know how to use the forum search.
Both my father and brother are honda guys (and my dad a former mechanic). Dad's got a 95' DX 3-door and my brother a 92' of the same type, in the process of switching to an EP3 SiR. We have a garage full of replacement parts and the knowledge to keep the car in good form.
I'm quite excited and think I got myself a pretty decent car here for what it is. Also have no intentions of really mucking it up. Got a spoon lip from my brother for the front and am in the market for a flush-mount wing for the back, and going to convert the front to an EG hatch bumper and hood (maybe) No intention of ruining that great economy I'll get out of the D15, saving up for a B18 much much down the road; I think it'll be a suitable engine for the body type.
Greetings and cheers from Ontairo Canada all!
I posted more pics in the OP here if curiosity strikes: https://honda-tech.com/introduce-you...ie-eg-3249232/

Hello from, Seattle!
Well I have recently surfaced my car onto the car scene, wasn't really into cars back then but ever since I've had this car in high school its been really good to me, I believe this car has potential in looks and performance, but is truly underrated due to its rarity in nature and lack of aftermarket support, fortunately with some research and experimentation I discovered that it had many secret compatibility with cars like Acura RDX, TSX, NSX, and the CL. I guess the best part is that it only cost me $2,000. I didn't know how rare these things were until I found my self at car meets with this platform. Anyway here it is...
The 6MT Acura Legend Type II

+NRG Quick Release 2.0

+Kaminari Side Skirts
Recent/Ignore my 86' sorry
Mugen FG360
All power windows
Type A interior (Black)
OEM Legend Caps
Rear
Fitment
JDM Visors
Plans?
-I am currently debating on an NSX Engine Swap or Building 3.5RL Motor. But its just an idea for now... but Highly possible.
-Maybe supercharger or a classic garret turbo system
-Fabricating a CF Hood
-Inte R Red Recaros
Oh and in case anyone is curious...
-It's not on spacers, the rear wheels pokes out about 0.4 mm while my front caliper has only about 1 mm clearance (as Shown above)
-The Rear Windows do Roll down
