Icon2 93 civic eg hatchback swap

Hi guys i have built a B20vtec motor and want to swap it into my 93 si eg hatch. The car has D16z6 in it and i am using a PR3-1 head and all other B16A parts for the motor(Stock with ARP rods bolts and head studs). Also using a S80 LSD hydrolic transmission.

My question is about wiring. If i pull my old motor out and put my new one in will my stock wiring harness, with vtec of course, plug right in and be fine or will i need to modify it first?. also i have stock P28 ecu from car aswell which i know i will need to modify and tune but im just worried about the wireing harness atm. Hope someone can summarize this for me. Thanks

depending on what alternator you use and what injectors you should be ok with the harness you have. it depends on what you run sensor wise also you NEED to tune it because it will run like ***.

looking at 310CC injectors and not sure of the alternator. If the plug is different from my D series will i be safe with just switching the plug connector on the harness with the one that works with the alt? And yes tuning is a must

you can swap the regulators over from alternator to alternator better than changing the harness so you dont have a loose connection or not splicing wires if you choose not to de pin it. if you have a obd1 alternator then use that with a obd1 harness if you have a obd2 alternator take the back off and swap the regulator on the back, its the piece that has the socket.

oh and 310s will work if you plan on using big cams or boost in the future you can just put bigger injectors in and turn the cycle down in the tune, also same with a fuel pump. just make sure you use saturated ones if you dont want to wire in a resister box, check by taking a ohm meter and reading ohms across the injector terminals it should be around 12 ish ohms peak and hold are around 7 i believe and they require a resister box.

Great infor thanks. i just used the stock injectors and the car runs fine. I now have a different issue. My car runs ok using my buddys chipped p06 ecu but gets engine light error codes 10,20, and 36. If i plug my unmodified p28 ecu in i only get error code 10 which i have found to be pin out d15 for IAT(Idle Air temp sensor). I have used two different sensors and neither work. aswell i have used a volt meter to check power and i am getting no power to the plug. I would like to note that i enged up using a B18C gsr wireing harness and it wired up fine. Mu question i guess is can i switch a pinout on my p28 ecu from D15 to another one that will go directly to my IAT sensor plug? If so which pin should i switch it too? there a 2 wires on the plug which are black and red/grey. I would really like to solve this so i have no engine lights and can tune properly.
