Re: RWD V8 CIVIC
I love builds like this that are off the wall!!! I was wondering if you did anything to reinforce the areas where the link system mounts?
I am hating my *** off so hurry and finish!!! Ricer! Lol

Re: RWD V8 CIVIC
I don't want to be negative, but single shear on those hiems won't handle 8 second launches.
I am curious though, were you able to keep the pedals 100% stock? I'm planning something similar and that's one of my bigger concerns. Everything else is just cutting and welding.

lol, I so agree with you on your post, that's not even a lie.
Love the idea but that rear end will rip that sub floor in no time man. You need to spread the load out properly
Thank you for the comment
this is awesome, i wasnt aware a 1uz bottom end was that stout
Very Nice Build,Congrats.

Re: Twin Turbo RWD V8 Civic
the hiems on those links will take the beating just fine for what I need it to do for NOW. Its very easy to add more support so that is not my big deal. First off the bat I just want it to run and run good, then I will cage it and more MORE more support then turn the boost up from there on. As the power changes, The car will change along with it to make up for it.
this is sick
was planning something similar

Awesome build, and excellent car collection. You really are accomplishing a lot in a small amount of time!
<--- You get a highfive from this guy.

OKKK DAY 6
Today was a very late start for me, only got a few hours in as I had to go out of town. But anyways sorry no pictures today, just didn't have the time. BUT, she starts
all wiring done, drive shaft in, and she started today open headers, I wont be able to drive it untill I get the turbos on and open her up on boost.
Guys, I just want to say please dont worry about the rear end setup, It wont be like that for long, As soon as the car progress, the car will also remodel. also it will get ALL CLEAN UP, I mean clean, wont be sh&&it like that in the pictures, it's just too much dust and stuff around it. RIGHT now im just focus on getting it done to drive, NOT to go all ***** to the walls just yet. So please PLEASE understand. Tomm is the goal to drive her open head out the shop, I was going to do that today but got caught up doing something else. So, stay tune.

also there's people out there using these same hiems and links where I buy them from, and there running 500-700hp with big blocks v8 through them. setup with 4-5 links just like this. These are 5/8 bolts.

Re: Twin Turbo RWD V8 Civic
Man, don't rush things.
Your rear-end setup has some SERIOUS problems.
In addition to the whole setup needing to be much beefier, and all the heims double-shear, the upper links need to be MUCH higher at both ends.
Also, the upper links should not be longer than the lowers.
The way it is, the rear is going to twist a LOT as the suspension moves, causing DRASTIC pinion angle changes.
Also, with the upper mounts on the housing that low, the forces on the links will be extreme. The rearend will just have way too much leverage on the linkage.
Good luck with your build, just slow down, get some engineering help, and do it SAFE and RIGHT.

Re: Twin Turbo RWD V8 Civic
I'd just like to let you know i hate you sooooo much with my black heart. <3 Awesome build! Since i used the word h8 we should be seeing a progress report soon. =P
I'm really interested in what rear end you used, and how it's actually bolted into the frame. I see the massive end links which i take it is used for alignment issues.
