I had a 91 CRX with a B16A and I am in the process of putting a B18A1 block in it, I am swapping the parts right now, and noticed that the is no place for the knock sensor and the thermoswith on the back of the block. I am running a PR3 ECU, and I need to get some idea of wht I should do. also, is there a way to use the coolant to oil cooler from the B16A on the B18 block, I mean will the threaded stud come out of the B18A1 so I can thread the cooler in, thanks!

I guess I'll drill and tap the bung for the thermoswitch. Can you just tap a hole, like on the alternator bracket or something? Please give me some useful feedback. thanks

u need to use the top hole on the alt bracket for knock u will have to shave the bracket down some though and u need to get a thermostat housing from a 99-00 si that has the switch on it and hook up there

there is a boss in the same place as the B16A on the B18A that is not tapped , couldn't I just tap that and use the same sensor?

B18A doesn't have a knock sensor. only the VTEC B series motors do.

the thermo switch... you mean the ECT switch?? thats on the thermostat housing. the ECT sensor and ECT gauge sending unit are next to the water outlet cover
