Re: Fully built AWD EG Reinforced wagovan tranny + GT28/40
i already built the SC bracket, its being cut this Friday. Then i can place the turbo and bypass valve, then build the manifold an connect the inter cooler.
The Eaton M45 mated to a nose assembly of a jackson racing SC (the JR SC was busted so i swapped the nose over to a Mercedes SLK eaton)
The Audi TB is going to be used as a bypass valve (yeah its a 3" tb (2k9 Audi S5 3.0tfsi)
This is where the SC is going to sit:
more next weekend

Re: Fully built AWD EG Reinforced wagovan tranny + GT28/40
Did some more work on the twincharge project...
Im going to feed the supercharger air through the turbo, then it all is going to be cooled by the water to air inter cooler. When the turbo starts pulling more air then the SC can deliver, a bypass valve will open, short cutting the intake path by directly taking air from the intake tube (the red silicone hose). This valve is going to be operated by the ECU (eCtune), as soon as the pressure in the 4" piping connecting the SC with the turbo nears atmospheric pressure, the valve needs to open. Therefore it's necessary to use a map sensor on this pcs of pipe.
Anyway, here's some pictures:
The 4" pipe connecting the SC to the turbo, had to use pie cuts because of the tight radius needed.
The bypass valve
Suck below squeeze on top
Modified torque mount, still needs to be boxed, using a power steering belt.
The exhaust is going to be put in front of the passenger side wheel, no mufflers.
Also the radiators are placed in the back of the car. The air filter will be placed in the glove box area, through the firewall.
I still need to buy a couple of 45 deg silicone bends to fit the ic piping to the turbo and intake.
Still waiting on the Edelbrock preformer intake and ACT clutch.

Re: Fully built AWD EG Reinforced wagovan tranny + GT28/40
well, i thought so too. It is the same size Jackson Racing uses, so it should be ok..
It does almost cover 180 degrees on the pulley
This is the 12 psi pulley, but i'm running it on the 2nd biggest diameter on the crank pulley, not on the top one so its going to make a litle less than 12 psi.
Also i do think that i need a litle bit bigger injectors than the ones i have right now (820cc ish) mabe 1k cc?

So the Mercedez engine are counterclockwise also ? cauze if not , Your blower is going to run the wrong side... you'll have to swap the Inner Srew inside the blower !
Sorry if my english is not right!

on the mercedes engine spins the other way around. Thats why i swapped the nose over from a busted Jackson Racing supercharger (built for a D16) This way it all will work.
(actually, i can make any SC work on Any Honda engine even if the SC not reversible, its not that hard, you only need to add one extra pulley)

Re: Fully built AWD EG Reinforced wagovan tranny + GT28/40
thanks guy's, i'm curious on the TQ numbers this setup will put down!
@kls032; Its their only part i'm willing to use, when i ordered the IC the project was still on a budget, now its on a "budget" but we all don't know what what kind.... it sure isen't cheap, got to love the euro-dollar rate :D

good to see the AKSC has inspired others.
Be careful, your mounting bolts for your bracket to the AC bracket will end up breaking.

Just look at this like: http://www.realhomemadeturbo.com/for...hp?topic=651.0
When I redo my setup and add the turbo I'll post a build thread on here.
I hope to see more AWD and Twincharge build text and picture and maybe a few videos (would be sweet).
I'm curious about why you would have to reinforce the tranny?

Re: Fully built AWD EG Reinforced wagovan tranny + GT28/40
The bolts breaking is the least of my concerns, i cant imagine them to break...
Ill try and finish the SC bracket this week, then i'm off for a 14day holiday to New York. (looking forward to that)
Well give the stock tranny a go, and if it breakes (splits the transfer casing) well build a custom transfer casing.
Frank (eCtune) has already compiled a base map to start with, well use the AC port to control the bypass valve. Hope the hulog arrives this week...

Here's my possible solution to one of the transfer case shortcomings:
Turn this:
into this:
And since I'm doing RWD, here are some further mods to the transmission case. It's Devcon Liquid Aluminum:
And something that I missed until I got a long way into the case mods (I wasn't going to start over). I'll fix that one with some silicone (I hope it doesn't leak).

You understand that the tranny was only meant to send 10-20% power to the rear, now you wanna try to send it ALL?????
