yes. just tap into the wire that goes to your VTEC solenoid and use that as an activation. But... why?

OOOH I see now. You want to use the shift light to ACTIVATE your VTEC. I thought you wanted your shift light to come on when you hit VTEC. Ok. I would say that in order to do this, you'll need a relay.. use the activation of the shift light at any given RPM to close the terminals on the one side, thereby closing the terminals on the other (VTEC wiring) side. Wire that as a switch right inline with your VTEC solenoid wire. that's how I would do it. It is an interesting concept, and should work.
That way, any time your shiftlight would come on, you would energize the relay passing current through your VTEC solenoid wire to engage. the only catch is, it would only work at or above your current VTEC activation point. Unless you find another sensor voltage point that's always on to pull from. But I would advise against taht... Be sure your voltages are rihgt or you could damage your ECM or VTEC solenoid.
I'm not sure if the solenoid is activated by +12 volts or the sensor voltage (I think is like +4.5ish.) You could always use resistors to lower the voltage from a direct feed from the battery.. hmmm... interesting.. anyone else agree/disagree?

I think what he is trin' to do is test, and kinda maunally activate the VTEC solenoid to be sure that everything is workin'
