Is there a way to wire Vtec to an aftermarket Tachometer? Or shiftlight...

i mean, like how can I wire Vtec to a tach. So like when the shiftlight comes on, Vtec comes on...I just heard it could be done bcuz my vtec wasnt working so i ran it to a switch and it worked then. But i heard that Vtec can engage automactically when wired up to a tach or shiftlight. Cuz you know u can set the shiftlight on tach.
