Vortech Supercharger kit for 2.2 S2000
Hi,
A friend if mine is looking to install a Vortech supercharger kit into his 2.2 AP2
What else is needed other than all the parts that come with the kit?
ECU tune? Extra cooling for intake temp?
And where is the cheapest place to get the kit?
THanks.

I would suggest buying and tunning the kit with an aem ems. Just make sure you take it to a good tunner. As far as gauges go at least get an air fuel gauge that would be the most important. I like aem air fuel wideband gauge.

My friends AP2 is made in 2007 and runs electronic throttle.
Vortech has told me that I have to send in my original ECU for them to do some adjustments because the car runs electronic throttle.
But since we run 98 octane gas here in Hong Kong and the weather is very different, we would rather do our own mapping back here.
Any suggestions on engine management systems for the electronic throttle AP2?
I have checked AEM, Hydra, etc... they dont seem to have the application.

how much your buddy has to spend on the tune alone?
if money is no object i would just go straight to stand alone. K pro is very popular too but i don't have much detail(search on S2ki.com)
i believe hong kong premiumis 98 but it's measured in RON, which is slightly higher than what we rate in the state.
FMU is good for.....getting the car running so that you can go to a dyno and have they install a better fuel management system.(been there)

Re: Vortech Supercharger kit for 2.2 S2000
Update on the car.
Its finally done, we ran into A LOT of problems.
The bracket for the SC couldnt be mounted because our AP2 had VGS, there for there is a VGS pump on the steering rack, which is right where the bracket is. We had to cut the bracket small to be able to clear the VGS pump, and relocate one of the idler pulleys. We also had to trim down the pump a little.
Glad things worked out.
One question i have now is how much boost is the stock kit supposed to run?
It doest say in the manual.
We were able to reach 0.45 bar
