Trying to think of a way to lock my seats up better. I've looked at the seat locks, but I'm wondering if there's a way to make them even more full proof. One thread mentioned welding a piece of metal into the top of a bolt so it can't be used, even with the proper tool. Not sure how safe that is around the carpet floors though, heh. Just looking for ideas. Granted, I realize a thief could get pissed off and cut my seats for making it so difficult. But I figure they we're going to take the seats anyway, so what's the difference.

Get a hard top + seat locks

Hard top only protects the car when it's on though, and this is a summer car for me. Can't exactly ride around with the hardtop in the trunk

my dad gave me a good idea that ill try out later on. but he said use extra long bolts and use a nut under the car for the extra long blots. theres no way they would be able to get the bolts out unless they snap them

I just don't think it would be smart to have long bolts hanging down from under the car. I could picture all kinds of **** getting stuck on it.

If they can't get what they want, most likely they will end vandalizing it. Say goodbye to your seats either way. Stolen or slashed, take your pick.

Best way to avoid getting seats stolen is by taking proper precautions. Watching where you park, never leave the car alone for a long time, get a garage, etc. That along with a hardtop with locks, and seat locks, a good alarm with loud sirens, back up sirens etc is always going to be more safe.

they dont have to be like 10" long just long enough to fit another nut on i dont think thats gona be a problem

Use carriage bolts and place a locking nut on the end of the stud, under the car. There will be absolutely nothing in the car to grip onto, and under the car will be too low.

And for those who are concerned, you can actually CUT the extra length off the bolt after the nut is on.

i dont own an s2k nor will i like too..due to the fact that the brains are blown off exposing **** tards to the goods, why not try Sheer Head bolts. its a bolt that built to have the head break off at a certain torque spec, once its broke, it leaves a stub end with no way to grip it

^ yea thats all fine and dandy but what if u wana ever take ur seats out will eventually u will want to or need to in the future.
