s2000 AP1 or Integra Type R

Re: s2000 AP1 or Integra Type R
if you want a good daily driver the s2k is the way to go it has more power and a little quicker. the type r is not for everyone it is a raw car that can feel rough at times but if you want a car that makes you feel like a little kid every time you drive it(this is a good thing) the type r is the way to go there is nothing like vtec in a type r

Decisions desicions!!
Thanks for all the input guys but I think I might be leaning to the s2k, especially the 6 speed aspect and the sportier looks! Plus the endless mods, etc..
But like I said it'll most likely come down to which one I find first at a better deal.
As for keeping the car safe it will always be garaged, safety of the car will be my no. 1 priority!
I'm currently looking for an 03' model (ap1) but might go to the 04' to

Clearly do I'm after a s2k or a integra type r, is that not obvious enough to you?
I also stated and it's pretty obvious I have that it's which ever one comes along with the better deal. Let's say I like to keep my options open when buying something

You are looking at two completely different cars that have hardly anything in common. You made a reference about the S2000 having a 6 speed so it was more appealing. You will still be cursing around 3,500-4,500 rpm.

i own a gsr and an s2000. the gsr makes about 600hp, and my s2k is slow as ***** in a straight line. it is also way more fun on a daily basis on every level. s2000 hands down for daily enjoyment

I've never liked the look of USDM Teg's. So it makes the case and easy one to solve.
The S. Its pretty, Chics dig it, and who can get away from a convertable? Not gonna mention the rest...

Re: s2000 AP1 or Integra Type R
personally went from GSR (had both stolen; and i know it aint an ITR) to S2k,
the s2k is commonly 'vandalized' as well the risk is about the same. the ITR is likely to be stolen whole and you will never see it again. 2 of my neighbors had itrs and both were stolen. I knew both my gsrs would eventually be stolen, and they were. My nicer one was never recovered and my beater was recovered as a 'roller'.
if you don't have a garage, full coverage insurance (includes theft), low jack, shotgun, rottweiler, and the top of the line viper alarm you probably shouldnt own an ITR
the s2k on the other hand will get vandalized just as easily. Only they probably only want the seats, interior, gauge cluster and whatever bolt ons they can grab fast. In the process they will slash the softop which cost about 1.5grand to fix. the replacement cost of seats on insurance books is like 4k each. they will total the car if you just lost the seats and softtop is slashed. so you might as well just leave the top open and never leave anything of value in the car.

S2000+ hardtop.
Ive built and owned numerous Hondas...the S2000 is bar far the most enjoyable to drive.
I really dont know why people take "theft rate" into consideration...if they want to steal it their going to steal it; be it a type R or a Sherman tank. Do what you can to prevent it and keep insurance on it.

Re: s2000 AP1 or Integra Type R
ive had both.
I owned the R longer than i did the S, and the integra is more comfortable, catches more attention, and holds value pretty good. The bad is that it is more likely to get stolen than an S2. the S2 was mod friendly and with the R, the stocker the better in re-sell value. i say drive them both and see how you like each individually

Re: s2000 AP1 or Integra Type R
I maybe wrong, and sorry if I am, but I keep noticing what I believe is reference to the type r of the third generation integra. However since the OP lives in Australia, would they have the type r of the fourth generation integra, the usdm RSX?
