Icon2 s2000 AP1 or Integra Type R

Hey guys after weeks of looking over this forum I've decided to join as I have a question I need help with.

I'm situated in Melbourne and have always wanted an Integra Type R but recently the s2000's have caught my eye.
Currently driving a shitty subaru rx and am over its **** weak engine and ugly looks.
I'm Leaning towards s2000 but still not sure about which one to go for, s2000's got great looks and from my experience are quick cars but integra type R's don't fail to impress me either,
what do you guys think?

Looking to purchase the car in the next month or so,
cheers.

s2000 to me is to me, a more mod friendly/daily car.. if that's what your into.

IMO a type-r should be left to OE standard. with maybe a drop to eliminate wheel gap unless you plan to use it for TRACKING ONLY.

Coming into this forum most people will tell you to get an S.

It really depends on your needs. If you can get by with having a 2 seater as your daily drive then I'd deff get an S

yeah like I said I really don't mind that its a two seater, cause if I really did require a larger car which is rarely I could just steal my brothers accord for the day and leave him the S to have a play with

Tough choice. You really can't go wrong with either one.

It's rare and Everyone wants one.
If it aint a Type R, It Aint a Tight Car.

I'd Go with the s2k just cause of No roof.
I like 6 gears I don't really Mind RWD
And It's just makes you look Sexy Driving a S2k

If your in for speed Go with the ITR
Gears are closer so you would pull better.

aww I see now
well I'm driving a subaru rx right now with just under 100kw I don't even think the engine could cut my grass to be honest lol
so either will be quite a upgrade, I've driven both and love the feel of the type R, especially when changing gears and it's not as loud as the s2000,
but I love the fact that the S is a convertible and a smaller car to get into those tiny gaps
so still in between both but I guess it comes down to which one I find first for the best deal

hmmm, an S2K has a faster 0-60 and quarter mile time...and ive owned both, for the record...and a stock ITR will do about 143mph top speed, where as the S2K will do about 167...explain to me how your comment about "if youre in for speed go with the ITR" makes sense

A little misinformation in this post...

An itr is most likely to get stolen above any other model in the Honda lineup because of its extremely high in demand parts. The motor is one of the best 4 cyl engines ever built, however, that's not what entices most thieves. The ability to sell almost every single part of the car is what most people steal them for. Everything fits in all other year integras, not to mention the 92-95 civics benefit from having some parts in common as well.

The theft rate for integras alone, not even mentioning the itr, is very high because of the same reasons listed above. Civics also suffer from the same thing. They are very easy to make a profit on, and most of the community is made up of either civics/ integras.

So back to the OPs original question...the itr is NOT a good daily driver, in regards to the higher possibility to get stolen or vandalized. Even if the proper precautions are taken, there is still a good chance it will end up in a chop shop and dissembled for parts. This is the reason they are becoming less and less common...

The s2000 is a good daily driver, considering you don't mind the stiffer suspension, decreased cabin room and rwd. Make sure you have some good tires for the winter as well. They tend to be a bit back happy, especially with some bald or skinny tires.

The s2000 is faster but not by much. Quarter mile times are not to off from each other, high 13s vs mid 14s, and the fd is not that noticeable when you step into both cars. 4.10 vs 4.44 I believe.

They both make great track cars, so you won't have any complaints in that department.

Compatibility. Anyone can steal a Type-R and install the parts in their base model Integra, or transplant majority of the parts into a Civic chassis and sell the remaining pieces.

MMM i see the OP lives in Melbourne, Australia, i live in Perth Australia and i can honestly say that i prefer my ITR for daily driving. But i also got the S2000 for weekends so best of both worlds. Here in AUS hondas are not really stolen like in the US, i left my keys in my drivers door of my ITR and went to lunch, upon return i was stunned to see them and the car still parked where i left it. Melbourne is slightly less safe and i expect an S2000 would be a thief's first choice because of the soft-top. Either way your making the right choice, the average Holdens and Fords cant hang!! Good luck with your choice but if i were you i would start with the ITR and maybe get an S2000 down the track, because you can pick up a nice ITR for less and spend the rest on the car making it as fast as the S2000 would have been. Cheers.

Pick which car would be best for your lifestyle, do you have security for a rare, well desired car? Do you need more than to seats? Are you crazy for not picking the S over any other car?<--joking....good luck
