I know you prolly love your car, and I know you probably are never going to be unbiased judging its weaknesses but as a potential buyer all the cars I tested were given the same time. Of course I based it on impressions gained from reality. I tried stock cars from a dealer, the later car was better IMO. I want to like them I really do it should be a perfect step between a stripped out bathtub like the Elise and the more expensive boxster, but it doesn't do the job unless its a. dry, b.smooth....for £25K this is unacceptable to me. If it is snowing it is one thing, if its just wet you really expect me to have to worry that much about car setup in a road car on road tyres, travelling at road speeds? </TD></TR></TABLE>

Far from it, my friend. I'll readily point out the weaknesses of my car. Diff problem - crap. Practicality - crap. Constant rattles and squeaks - crap. Clutch rattle - crap. etc etc. Why did I buy this car? The pluses far outweigh the minuses. I love having the top down on a sunny day, and the telepathic handling of the car is fantastic. How do I put up with all the minuses? I have a beater car. The S is driven whenever I get a chance, but when conditions do not permit (read: I do NOT have a winter setup for the S. It's quite capable in the snow with good snow tires, but I chose not to drive it in the winter, but as mentioned before, many have with no problems.), and when I need a bit more space, the beater comes in handy.

Anyway, it's useless talking to someone who's only driven the car a couple of times, and bases their opinion on those couple of experiences alone. Try a properly set up car (which, in this case, only means proper tires for the given situation), I'm sure you'll enjoy it a lot more. If it still doesn't suit you, go get a Boxter. I'm sure Honda's not going to have a hissy fit because you did not get an S.

What you have to understand is that the S2000 is set up to be driven recreationally. It wasn't designed as a primary vehicle. While it can certainly be used as such if you take the right steps, it was designed as a weekend roadster kind of car.

So they soften up the Boxter's suspension and put all seasons on it so that the same people that never put the top down during the summer can ride around in their Porsche during the winter without swapping tires, doesn't make a vastly superior car. Just one that was designed to be a little bit more comfortable and convenient.

You say that the S2000 is fundametally flawed because it does not make a good all-weather commuter vehicle off the showroom floor. I say that its not a flaw because the car wasn't designed for that.
</TD></TR></TABLE>

Thats exactly what I am saying. It is not a good all round car in the conditions I live in each day. Now please tell the factory test driver

I did want one, until I drove one, thats the fact of it.

I would but the car of choice is going to be a Z3. Its the only car I really want, until then the Integra will do.

I am so sad about this I won't be able to sleep tonight. You are so kewl you are not even on the normal scale. I suggest you contact the FIA immediately and tell them to invent a class above F1 just for s2000 drivers as you are soooooo talented. Get over yourself.

The car isnt that great, it is for you because you get off on telling people you are the worlds greatest driver as you can tame the 'beast'. Just for your info a car that has that little shove in it below 6K but can still shake the rear end is not the last word in chassis dynamics. Oh and still waiting for the tyre temps you run there........

In the meantime take your foot out of your mouth. Until you have seen how I drive and what/where/when I would suggest a slightly more thoughtful approach. You being all of 23yrs old have probably covered less than a third of the mileage I have so far. Thius being most of Europe and lots of Eastern, Mid West US in different seasons I think I am able to drive pretty well, and dont need a 23yr old pup to tell me differently. Take yourself to the track in the wet and tell me how you get on, thats if you can risk eating a bit of humble pie.

You have bought into the fantasy that the s2k is some kind of iconic sports car, the marketing people have done well with you, although with a brain composed largely of air made up with arrogance and touch of *** for balance they never had to work all that hard truth be told. You say common sense makes up part of the 'godlike' qualities of s2k driving ability, it is amazing you can find the start button if this is really the case. As a road car it is deeply flawed IMO, and not just me but others in this thread and the HT community have said the same. No we are not as kewl as you, but even factoring that in not everyone can be wrong.

Anyway......go on with your bad self there, give your friends a pat on the back from me and get them a beer, they deserve it.</TD></TR></TABLE>

more assumptions.... you're a tool... i never said i was the best driver.. i never said the S is perfect... i never said any of that junk you're putting in my mouth... my foot isn't in my mouth.. but you're trying to put it in my mouth with your assumptions...

pure and simple.. i said i could handle the S in inclement weather.. because i don't drive like a fool and i use common sense.. and i know my OWN LIMITS....

BY the way.. you've still failed to realize.. I'm NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAVE DRIVEN THE S IN INCLEMENT WEATHER WITH ABSOLUTLY NO PROBLEMS.....

come by my way and i'll gladly take you for a ride and show you how to drive the S in incliment weather...

I ran an M roadster while I was still bone stock. Neck to neck, even with the shifts. Up to 4th at least.

Guy probably couldn't drive. An S52 M roadster should beat an S quite handidly in the straights.

I would say, if its rebuildable rebuild it. You have job right, so you can save for parts/rebuild or you can sell it whats left of it and get yourself economical cheap FWD or 4x4 truck and life goes on

I lost my first AP2 also, though not my fault, I was down for a while. Insurance will take care of it, but I have no idea how it works in Brussels. A car is a car, no need to contemplate suicide over it. Be thankful you walked out of there alive; there are a lot of people who have managed to walk away from a beastly accident, myself included. Take it as experience, and a chance for progress.

Was gonna asked if he walked away. That says a lot for the safety engineering of this car, but it isn't a ticket to drive recklessly. Live and learn.

I also beat an E46 M3 on the streets. Doesn't mean my car's faster, though.

I didn't say it was faster, but it was a short light to light run, didn't even top 4th. What surprised me is that we shifted at pretty much the same time.

i know this is completely off topic, but it seems as if you have been sheltered your whole life. i'd rather not get into it, so i shall be blunt; grow up.

p.s. this has very little to do with the word "daddy". he is scared of what his parents will think of him:

That is a tough situation you are in right now. Hold your head up man. It is a big deal, but only a material posession. NOTHING to contimplate suicide over. Once you get through this it will only make you stronger. I am not sure how you insurance works over there, but here your insurance should cover that type of thing. Be positive, be happy you were not hurt. Hold your head up!!! I purchased my S2k ABOUT A WEEK AGO.... I have been trying to take it easy learning to drive it. RWD is a whole new game. I will be honest...I have made the back end step out a few times. I have been dong laps around my shop just trying to get the feel. I am glad you made this post. I will definetly slow my roll.....

supposidly yes... i dont' know the full story.. and neither does the owner of the car.. but from what he has stated.....

the guy was driving to fast for the road... it was a two lane road (one going one way and the other going the other way)... and there was an oncoming car.. he supposidly went further over to the right to give the other car a little more room? and ended up going off road.. pulled it back on the road but wasn't able to keep control of it and then hit a tree....

Is there any other type of Z, and definately not the roadster ...trying to find one in phoenix yellow and plain interior at a sensible price is proving difficult. Almost as difficult as selling the Integra

I doubt it.

There is not much that can match the slipper 0-100 this side of a supercar. The S isnt that much quicker than an integra....guessing 16secs or so? The M will hit 100 in 11 and I would have thought that in a roll on the torque at any speed would have sucked the s2k's lights out?
