Rim Offset Help Please
im almost ready to buy some rims for the S and wondering if 18x8.5 all around with either an offset of +30 and +25 would fit? and my other option is 17x9 with an offset of +30
if you guys could get back to me that would be great!

Re: Rim Offset Help Please
None of your choices will fit properly without rolling your fenders, trimming and tucking bumper tabs, and a lot of camber. I'm running 17X8 +45 and 17X9 +45 and it is a fairly aggresive setup for the S2000 even with rolling the fenders, trimming bumper tabs and adding camber.

gotcha. +1 on most the info above then. I read a thread where someone was able to fit similar stuff a while ago just by raising the rear a bit but that was a while ago.

Goodluck. You're looking at more what the guy said above.. Along with that prob a pull as well. I'd look for more s2000 friendly figments. Even the enkei rpf1 which is a very popular rim for s2ks require fender mods. The offsets on those are +48 front or +45 depending on width and +45 in the rear. If you're lowered you're lookng at a fender roll, front and rear, rear bumper tab relcation and trimming the rear bumper.
You need to research all of this..

Re: Rim Offset Help Please
What is the most aggressive setup for an s2k lowered on tein or espelirs?
For 17 " and 18" staggered... Without rolling fenders n relocating anything?

Re: Rim Offset Help Please
Here you go hope this helps, got this from another site.
Use this as a guide so you don't end up with rims that will require fender rolling or having to make severe alignment changes:
For the front:
Offsets lower than +43 are not recommended on the front because a very narrow tire would need to be used to avoid rubbing.
+43 to +47 offset: 205 tires, 6.5" - 7.5" wide wheel
+48 to +52 offset: 215 tires, 7.0" - 8.0" wide wheel
+53 to +57 offset: 225 tires, 7.0" - 8.0" wide wheel
+58 to +62 offset: 235 tires, 7.5" - 8.5" wide wheel
+63 or higher offset: 245 tires, 7.5" - 8.5" wide wheel
For the rear:
Offsets below 40 are not recommended for the rear because a tire narrower than the stock tire would need to be used to avoid rubbing.
+40 to +44 offset: 235 tires, 7.5" - 8.5" wide wheel
+45 to +49 offset: 245 tires, 7.5" - 9.0" wide wheel
+50 to +54 offset: 255 tires, 8.0" - 9.5" wide wheel
+55 to +59 offset: 265 tires, 8.5" - 9.5" wide wheel
+60 to +64 offset: 275 tires, 9.0" - 10.0" wide wheel
+65 or higher offset: 285 tires, 9.0" - 10.0" wide wheel

Re: Rim Offset Help Please
if your going all motor like me i'd go with the same size as the AP2 rims are. I think anything bigger then that is over kill. The car was designed to be all motor so they estimated that would be best fit.
the OEM MY00-03 (AP1) wheel sizes and offsets are as follows:
Front:
16" x 6.5", +55 offset, 205 tire
Rear:
16" x 7.5", +65 offset, 225 tire
and the OEM MY04+ (AP2) wheels (including MY06) are as follows:
Front:
17" x 7.0", +55 offset, 215 tire
Rear:
17" x 8.5", +65 offset, 245 tire

Re: Rim Offset Help Please
It can be done. This is usaully a race setup and it needs quite a bit of fender rolling and pulling in the front. For a daily street car I wouldn't recomend it. If I were you I would stay staggered. 17x8/17x9 +45 all around is a common setup that only needs a slight roll in the rear. Good luck finding someone to properly roll your fenders in eastern washington lol.
