Default Previous Integra owners with S2ks please share your impressions

My much loved integra was stolen and I'm looking for a used replacement between 20-25k. S2k is on my list among the 350z, rsx, mustang gt or 330ci(don't know if I can afford this one).

I would like to know how previous integra owners feel about them. I won't be driving to work so it's mostly going to be a weekend car. I do live in the northeast though, so winter driving is a concern for me. Is the ragtop and hardtop interchangeable? Can I put the hardtop on during the winter? Also roughly %-wise how much more are you paying to insure the S2k?

Can't wait to test drive one.

the hard top can be placed on the car with the soft top in the retracted position. it takes only a few minutes to do this. the s2k is a rear wheel drive and chains can't be used on the car. insurance isn't that much. the search tool is great for this topic.

Scratch everything else off your list besides the 350z.. they're not even in the same class.

Hardtop goes over the softtop.

My coverage is 50/100/30.

Go drive one. You'll buy it.

Are you referring to the Z or the S2k?

Now why would I tell you to scratch the S off your list? That's your 1st choice is it not? Choose between the Z and the S.

Oh yeah, theft-wise where is the S? Are thieves after it nearly as much as they are integras?

As far as motor/drivetrain, it doesn't fit in any other Honda chassis, so we're safe there. Tops, seats, and wheels are still vulnerable.

I sold my type r integra for an 02 black s2k with 15k miles...MUCH MUCH MUCH happier with the s2k...SUPERIOR handling and much faster. Real reason why i like it better though is that it's by far the most fun car i've owned...and that's amoung a vette, 12sec 1/4 wrx and the type r

I had an NA 190 whp GSR, which was similar in power to my S2000. I dont regret the trade at all. S2k handles better, and obviously the convertible is excellent. The transmission and shifter is the greatest thing thats happened to man since V for Vendetta.

S2000 dominates in fun factor for certain. Winters and inclement weather are more of a concern for me...as I am in Ohio, but it can be done....snow tires are a must.

i had a 360+whp turbocharged rsx that was totalled in a hit and run (i wasn't even in the area - car was parked) and i replaced it with an s2k...i obviously plan on turbocharging the s in the future, but every time i drive it, i'm glad i chose it as a replacement...

i have never owned a car that i wanted to drive ALL the time...i love the fact that it's a 2 seater because i hate having to drive people around (plus i have a daily driver 95 accord that is currently undergoing a few mods so i've been using the s as my daily driver since i got it 2 months ago)

i have no need for a practical car at this point in my life...i don't have a wife, kids, or a business where i have to haul stuff

as a previous poster said...just drive one and you'll buy it...the feel is much better IMO than anything in its class (and plenty of cars above its class)

Same here but I'd love another ITR in addition.

if u were a thief and u had to choose between an s2k or integra parked together what would u pick? im in the mountains of nj and weve had a weird year snow wise, so i was caught in the snow going up a dangerous muntain but i was behind a plow. i had stock tires with 50% tread wear and made it up the mountain and home safely. ive seen tire reviews that people drive the s with snow tires and have no problems. i test drove my s2000 about 3 times, but i decided to buy it the first time. but with the z u have backseats, a 2 seater isnt friend friendly. but it looks good with the top down and the chic next to u. i get stopped all the time by people telling me how great my car looks, even the 50 yr old bold guys in bmw's. the s is a far superior car to the z except for the 6 cylinder engine. but every 25 yr old accountant has a z. im the only young guy with hair ive seen driving the convertible, and its a honda so u know it wont have defects, ive been driving a year with 22k miles and i havent had a single problem, except that chatter when i shift from 1-2 @8000rpm, how many cars can say that?

The Z doesn't have back seats. The G35 coupe does.

And paragraphs would help. .

And since everyone's throwing out their rants, here's my little rant session:

I think 99% of us in here are high school grads, along with some college grads. CAN EVERYONE TYPE LIKE THEY'VE GOT SOME KIND OF LITERACY AND GRAMMAR SKILLS? All of this "wat u gotz?" "do u nv mah whipz??!!11" has got to go. How much longer does it take to type "you" instead of "u"? "What" instead of "wat"?

And please make your posts reader-friendly. i.e. Paragraphs, spell checks, etc.

That is all.

(People from N.C. excluded, since their education rating was 48th in the continental US )
