^ your ranting is also slightly one sided

That was one serious question I asked there.

When you get to this power level, metal fatigue is the real enemy. Power and reliability will be exponentially and reversely related. The more power you make from the same cylinder walls the more stressed the engine internal. A 500hp engine last 1 year, a 800whp engine last 200 runs, a 1000whp engine last ? runs etc etc (just hypothetical guesses, not proven)

My ideal bench mark for this 1000whp is a rebuild every 30-50x 1/4 miles, full power run. This is an achievement is my book. If this engine is mated with a race prep s2k, crosses the finish line in the 9sec bracket then it's another achievement in my book too.

Hey, if a rebuild is required every 1000whp recorded on the dyno is good enough for you then good for you really . Thanks for attacking me but I have my goal and if that's not good enough in your book then so be it.

It made me sad to see that article. The part that bothered me the most was that for the most parts the parts that have been put on the car are VERY high quality. Brand names like Endless, ASM, J's Racing, etc... It's like the pieces are right but they were all put together wrong. Here was my criticism from S2Ki before the thread got locked because people were too busy being immature.

- The wing is mounted absurdly.
- The paint color / interior combination is horrible (red with blue interior)
- The wheels don't appear to fit. He's got ASM wide fenders up front and the over fenders in the rear. He's got all that extra space, you'd think he could not still have wheels that stick out too far.
- If my initial guess is right and his rear brakes are just an Endless 6pot front kit flipped around, that's actually going to HURT his braking because the bias will be all f'd up.
- The windshield seems to be tinted (this could just be an optical effect from the shoot or post-prod, but if its not...)

Someone already said it here, unfortunately all that money (and even all of those high quality parts) still don't make it look good or function well. It's a shame....

I posted about the long block build as it was being done. I am sad to see some of the coments here. All I can assure you is that he got one damn good long block for his car. We put our heart and soul into this long block. Did a lot of flow tests with PortFlow to get the head right. Spent time at CP designing the proper piston dome to take advantage of the piston inside the combustion chamber design unique to the S2000.
I was told that the car got Best of Show at Hot Import Nights in Los Angeles, not positive about that, however. I've never even seen the car.

that car is AmuseAP1's on s2ki...it was once blue and got in some other magazine...He re did it to get in SuperStreet...Hes only pushing 650hp the max...

Anyway, that car is said and done...Hes in the process of re-doing it once again...Rumor has it hes getting the first set of production Toda ITB'S, and hes keeping the 2.5 stroker...

Its a nice car, but its to over done...The 1st version of it when it was blue was ugly, the orange is an improvment

well I can speak on this car, as I have judged it at two of the hot import nights events here in califorina. He did not win in LA or San Mateo, the main reason being the car did not drive into the facility. I spoke with the owner, Chris. He kinda fed me some BS about why It didn't run, but came clean in the end it was not tuned yet. To my best recolection he was on a team called GarageLife. They are known to have some decent cars, but like everyone in those shows, it's a huge pissing competition. The whole I have more than you so I'm better. I think it's actually kinda funny to judge that stuff because of how gay most the those idiots are.

Just my 2cents.

a buch of people on s2ki were up set that other members were flaming his car.

he spent a lot of money on expensive parts, i get it, that impresses some people, but come on, that car looks hideous.

if we saw a cavalier with similar equipment, we would all join hands and sing a song of damnation toward the owner, but the fact that he has official JDM gobeldee**** and carbon fiber whoosits, suddenly its not rice?

stil looks like a steaming bowl of uncle bens to me.

i am not a purist, that thinks that you can not deviate from the s2000s natural form. In fact i think that the amuse widebody is pretty sick looking. but there are certain rules of vehicular tastefulness that we, as adults, should find ourselves compelled to adhere to. and keeping it one color is as vital as keeping it clean.

True, the guy has more money than brains. His best investment was probably those tow hooks. I bet they get a lot of use with "850" HP.

No disrespect to Mr. Laskey's work, but I don't believe for one second that this S2K is 852 hp. Just too many ?s not ansered in a vague article. No wonder I don't read SS anymore, just too many showcars and articles to go with 'em.

Show ****** rule!!! Or not.

I love how people do everything so people will like it. Let's see, let me get rid of my "852 hp" motor for an all motor build that might make 270whp... Wow.

i just like how people throw cash around like its their job...its all the "i did it 1st factor" i think...no one has toda ITB's yet...The only way to get them is through ASM because they use them on their race cars...If you wan't a set they are 8g's...Is crazy and not worth it...Personally that car is well overdone, and the more i look at it the more i dislike it...

pretty much...you have to buy them from ASM since toda doesn't make them for "street production" yet...ASM uses them on the race cars...
