used p28 with hondata s200
thinking of selling my apex vafc2 and getting a p28 with s200 I can get locally for $220. I know ill need an obd2-obd1 wire harness. What else will I need? The program I run with hondata to my laptop is soppose to come with the hondata or can it be downloaded from hondata?
Im downloading right now Hondalogger for s200 and Rom editer version4. Will i need anything else? How do I connect the hondata or ecu to my laptop to edit?
I was checking around the Rom editor, the base map used for an N/a prelude would be the one titled prelude? There are 2 for boosted and one that just says prelude.
Thanks for the help. I guess all I need is a little orientation.

already sold however i can get a programmable p28 to use with crome with obd2 to obd1 harness all for 280. My question is how can i connect the ecu to my laptop to tune with crome? I already have crome in my pc.
Do i need to "burn" the chip either way to do this? Isnt there like a data cable I can just connect to my laptop for tuning? If not how can i get a chip burner?

Re: used p28 with hondata s200 (bb6_00)
The hardware requirements for Crome are the same, you either have to burn or emulate chips. You will need additional hardware to datalog though. The one upside of the S200 box is P&P datalogging.
The laptop connects to the chip burner/emulator and the datalogger.
Xenocron is a good place to get stuff, there are many others though

this is getting a little complicated. So everytime I want to adjust something id have open the ecu, take the chip out, put it on the burner and modify there. Sounds kinda complicated to do on a dyno. Im sure the results are good if not better than tuning with apex but id have to buy so many things its better to pay a tuner the $100-150 to do it for you while the apex they charge about 50 but its so easy you can do it yourself.

Re: (bb6_00)
It's not the worst thing in the world....
but it is why all-in-one systems like Neptune RTP and S300 are popular. 1 USB cable for programming and datalogging, easy.
