Tranny Shop Couldn't Fix 5th Gear Grind

Tranny Shop Couldn't Fix 5th Gear Grind
Clutch went out out of town and I had my 97 base towed to a local transmission shop and the guy said fixing the grind would be no problem. 1300 bucks later and it still grinds at pretty low rpms going into 5th. I took it back, the guy had it for 5 weeks before I got it back again and it was fine for a few days and then grinding again. Replaced (or said he replaced) everything to do with the 5th gear, including the shift fork, but it's still grinding as it did before the clutch went out.
At this point I called the CC company and am disputing half of the charge, but I want to know if there is some kinda honda voodoo that is required to fix this or if the guy just lied about what he did. I mean, this is a transmission only shop and every time I've been there I have seen hondas, but I have no idea.
Any ideas are appreciated.

I replaced my clutch with an Exedy OEM clutch and never grinded 5th since. On stock clutch i would grind every time i skipped gears to go directly to 5th.

Supposedly running a synthetic oil in a manual trans may cause problems with slipping.

I'm prolly gonna double-clutch from here on out and try not to think about it. Hopefully the cc company can twist the guy's arm into crediting me for the part he F'ed up. I don't think I wanna go through this again, I was just wondering if there is some reason why the synchros in a prelude are that much different from what a guy who has worked on hundreds of transmissions has seen. Just seems kinda weird.

notorious 5th gear grind, motor oil will work but I still suggest the Honda MTF over it. I ran mobil1 10w30 in the tranny (as per the manual) since I had it around but thats not as good as the MTFs out there. not worth double clutching a daily driver all day imo.
