Default tranny problems

93 prelude S.

Even though I asked the seller whats up with the tranny doing this, he said it never happened before and was just me but whatever ill get over it.

If I fly through the gears and accelerate hard it shifts fine through the gears.

Problem is if i cruise in second, or if im in second around a turn and it gets bumpy, sometimes even giong straight in second and it gets bumpy, and then i give it gas afterwards, the RPMS climb but I do not accelerate. This would also happen if i gas it up to higher RPMS ( 5k+ RPMS) in second and let off the gas quickly, the car will kind of bog(normal) but then if I give it gas again RPMs climb but im nto accelerating.

It does not do this in any other gear.

Its also not fully popping out of gear I don't think. The shifter is not in the middle, its still somewhat in the slot for second, I just have to put the clutch in, pull it back in a bit and then I can take off again. Any ideas. Im hoping its the clutch or maybe a mount rather then the tranny. The kid I bought it from said he had just put in a new clutch, maybe there was an install error.

TIA

EDIT - I get no CELs either.
im looking into this shift solenoid now.

if your rpms are climbing without an increase in road speed, your clutch is slipping.

added: even though the clutch is new, if your rear main seal goes, it will cause oil to get on the clutch mating surfaces, which will cause a brand new clutch to slip.

are you sure theres a new clutch in there though? just cause the kid said there was a new clutch doesnt mean there actually is one. just a thought. i cant really imagine why it would do that in 2nd only.

i know, im not positive, no papers, but he said he put in a new one. but if it were the clutch slipping it should do it more then just second. im guna go out now and try the 3rd gear to 5th at WOT or going up a hill

took it for another drive. the clutch generally is definately not slipping.

it was a bit harder to induce the 2nd gear slip I get, maybe the penzoil syncromesh being worked in there is starting to get it going, but after driving it maybe 5 min keeping the RPms up etc, I managed to get it. It primarily does it around turns, I hear the bump and I can then hear/feel the tranny pop out, RPMs rise but it still feels like its in gear acordin to the shifter.

I checked the mounts, there all tightened and there, except the back one(if we have a back one, I couldnt see it cause of **** in the way.)

your 2nd gear is fucked man. the guy who had it before was doing too many 1-2 chirps and probably ate up the 2nd gear synchro as well as the gear itself. looks like it's time for a rebuild or a new tranny.
