Default took it to the track. ran it twice

i went wednesday night, and im copying this off another site i posted it on. so if something sounds like it was added in, it probly was

before i post the times and what not... let me tell you the elements that caused my partial sucking

1. first time EVER racing at the track
2. Regul Challenger tires (absolute trash)
3. h23 tranny caused me to fall out of VTEC and i had to wait for what seemed like forever for it to hit the magic rpm (h23 tranny + 5400vtec + 7200revlimit = falling too far out of vtec)

with that said, now on with the numbers:

1st run: (this slip is in my car and im too tired to go out and get it so x's = approximation)
RT: .644
60ft: 2.4x
mph: 90.xx
et: 15.8x

LOTS of wheel spin in first and half of second. the tree caught me by suprise so i didnt get the rpm's where i wanted them before i had to go. then i missed 3rd so yeah... shitty run but that was the first time ever! i can only get better from there

2nd run:
RT: .605
60ft: 2.357
mph: 92.05
et: 15.182

this run felt a lot better. i took my time warming up the tires (unlike last time where i was nervous and barely did anything lol), got lined up and held the rpms at 3k, spun a lil and hit every gear nice and solid

i also think i might have got some slightly bad gas b/c it was ticking a lil. teh last time i go to Hess damnit (since wednesday night i have filled up at Chevron and i hear no more ticking/pinging... weather or not this hurt performance, i dunno)

i have vids available upon request (unless someone wants to host). my sister didnt start the recording until after i had taken off on the 2nd run, so it starts like right before i hit 2nd gear

LOTS of things to improve next time the times may not be that great but im happy with them for now

this was also done with a full interior (spare tire, compartments full of ****, etc.). basically i drove to the strip like normal, got in line, moved forward with the line, lined up, ran and got back in line and did the same thing.

heres the 2nd run vid. keep in mind that its dark and the camera's strong point is definitely not video taking lol (and my sisters bf is the commentator lol)

http://www.we-todd-did-racing....k1NDE=

next thing on the list is to get better injectors, fpr, and fpg so i can go back to the dyno and have them lower my vtec and maybe ill get an m2b4 tranny over the summer

Good video. What car was running next to you? Both cars sounded pretty good.

I wanted the color of your car. That's my favorite color.

Just SHIFT better, it will stay in vtec, and will feel way better!

your 60ft's are on the high side, get them down to 2.2 or better and you lose a few 10ths in the 1/4

yea burnouts on street tires tend to make them greasy so jsut go around the water and do a dry hop jsut to clean the tires and lower the tire pressure too

we have the same tranny but your revlimiter is probably where the stock h22 revlimter is. i had my set lower b/c of the h23 crank and rods so i dont rev too high and spin bearings... after all, it is my dd. and i have to wait for VTEC to hit at 5400 instead of lower b/c on the dyno it was leaning out b/c of the injectors, so to fix the leaning out he just set it higher and told me to get injectors and a fuel pressure gauge, then he could finish the tuning. right now its tuned to run and not crap out on me, not tuned for optimum performance.

next time i go out will be after i go back to the dyno and probly after i get new tires also.

re-read #3. there is NO possible way at this time for me to stay in VTEC on any shift. vtec and revlimiter are 1800 rpms away from each other... you must be immortal if you can stay in VTEC in my car, and even then i dont know how you'd do it. (for an explanation read what i said to jdm_loser above)

on the 2nd run i barely got any wheel spin. but i also had to launch at like 3k to accomplish that. so i blame it on my n00bness to the track and my tires being heaping piles of ****. dont worry tho, i loved racing so im sure ill be going back

everyone at work told me to warm them up a lil bit i didnt sit there spinning them for any longer than 5seconds... is that too long? and i only did it cuz it was chilly outside and im sure my tires were cold.

ill have to remember this for next time. i did go around the water tho

if i lower my tire pressure wouldnt that hurt my trap speed? what do you set yours to when you go?

thanks for the tips everyone

edit: hopefully by summer time i will have my new injectors and fpg (and maybe a fuel pump) so i can go to the dyno again before summer. then during the summer ill be looking for the H22 LSD tranny (m2b4 right?)

Yeha it will hurt your trap speed if u lower them too low but on my 215/40/17s i drop it from around 40 to abt 25 and u want the back tires to be abt 40 or 45 only thing they still wheel hop like a bitch i recommend gettin you some 15 inch or 14 in rims and get a tire thas at least a 50 get like a 205/50/15 and drop it to 20 psi it will hook way better than some 215/40/17 eliminates wheel hop a **** load thas my advice good luck to you

i have the 1995 Prelude SE rims right now

and i have some accord rims sitting in the garage that ill prolly get good tires for track duty... possibly 225ish or something

this was my first time so i kinda wanted to see what i was working with exactly how i run it on the street. but next time ill be taking the spare out and lowering the psi and other such things for sure

If your car was tuned and you did some weight reduction and your a good driver you should be in the mid 14's.
