Mostly on a cold start wen I turn the key in the on position the engine would hesitate to start or just make a bunch of clicking noises and I would have to keep trying to start it again. .this afternoon on a cold weather I tried starting the car and nothing happened no clicking no cranking no spinning. I tought the battery was dead but then I heard the starter spinning without the key in the egnition I tapped it with a wrench nd it stopped tried again turning the key over and over with the same results. .I read it could be the starter or possibly the flywheel. .but im also conserned it might have a short circuit somewere

Sounds like the starter solenoid is sticking

Well I had to replace the starter .the car starts now bit makes a different whining noise before start followed by a click or like a spark or a knock..the starter the engine had said japan the new one doesn't. Also seems a little smaller could that be an issue? I will try and test the voltage later on that's if the car cooperates and starts every time..

Update..I took the new starter back to the auto parts amd replaced it just finished intalling the replacement nd starts the car just fine hope it holds up
