Smell coming from heater
Its winter now in idaho so its pretty cold, so i have the heater on most of the time.
However, recently if i have the heater on for awhile, a small smell kind of comes from the vents and sorta smells like a burning smell but not too strong. its very seldom but bugs me and kinda worries me a little, so i dont keep it on too long
any suggestions?

A smalll smell? Well as of right now it could be a handful of things. What does it smell like?
Here is a list of posible burning smells.
Wires
Oil
gas
coolant
metal
Im sure the list can go on but you need to be more specific

Re: (rch022)
hmm well i just thought about it and a few months ago some douchebag took my oil cap off when i had my hood propped infront of my house and i drove around with it like that for about 1/2 a mile then saw smoke coming from my hood so i pulled over and saw oil all over the place i cleaned most of it off but theres still some of it probably, it could be that smell. but im not sure and its more like a burning not a dead animal

I'm sure it's just your oil spill problem you encountered because I had really bad leak from my oil pressure switch that was being burnt off of the exhaust and it stank pretty bad, especially with the heater on. However, if it smells like coolant, it could be your heater core, and that's no fun

No, wash it off you lazy (you know)!.
Who the hell would take off your oil cap? That sounds like a real dumb ***, if He forgot to put it back on.
You degrease it as acid craker said by buying spray degreasers and physically wash your oil spill, by scrubbing it with a brush, or sponges or clothes etc. Or wash whole motor.
I like option two, wash whole motor. I'm sure even on H-T there is a million topics on which degreaser you should use too.
