you can still manage to drive on the broken tie rod. What made you get stuck in traffic ?

sorry dude but a broken tie rod is not a sad day, thats like a 30 min job. A blown motor, sliding into a ditch or rear-ending a bus is a bad day, I speak from experience.

i was 20 miles away from home and i have to take the freeway to get home so i dont think driving on the freeway with a broke rod or axle is safe cus i can turn my left wheel but cant really turn my right...=(

Yep, that's not too bad. Just an inner tie rod...pretty easy to replace.
