Default Rev Limiter Problem

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, I have a 98 sh with an act xact flywheel and act ss clutch/ pressure plate. If i'm pushing it and i get the tach up to 6500 in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd (i have not tried it in 4th or 5th) the rev limiter kicks in and wont let me past 6500. I talked to a couple local shops they have no clue and the honda dealer wants $95 an hour to figure it out so i'm tring to avoid that. Has anyone had this problam?

Thanks

Are you throwing a CEL? A lowered rev limit means that the ECU's running in safe mode.

Is your car cold when you ran it? check the temp gauges, cuz when its cold it wont let you go past 6500.

Most CELs bump it into limp mode, which means no VTEC, 6500rpm rev limit.

if you have no engine light at all i would check the vtec solenoid itself.
