Default Please HELP!!! Removal of front lower balljoints on 92 prelude using correct tools.

i am trying to remove the balljoints on my 92 honda prelude. I am aware of the method of beating the hell out of it until it comes out but i am trying to find the correct balljoint press/removal tools. I am aware of the following tools available supposedly for the removal and installation of balljoints in preludes.

OTC 7996 for honda
http://www.sjdiscounttools.com/otc7996.html
I HAVE THIS TOOL AND DOES NOT WORK AS PICTURED IN INSTRUCTIONS.

Below is a service bulletin i found regarding honda/acura balljoints, it suggests that moog part# T80541 will remove them. i have ordered it but have yet to receive it and try it.

http://www.moogproblemsolver.com/_pd..._T80541_En.pdf

The balljoint measures 1 7/8 in outer diameter. Meaning the receiver cup needs to have and inner diameter to match this. Please let me know if u have used this moog tool and it works. If not, let me know if u know of the correct tools to remove it without having to remove knuckle.

based on the link you provided, sjdiscounts, it does not look like it will fit your application anyway.

The otc tool. Manual says it specifically works on preludes, both type of lower balljoints. But
it does not work. The Moog tool does not list prelude as application but from
The pic in the bulliten it looks like it might work. Very annoying. Someone has to have the
answer.

no, i have heard of that, but im looking for the proper reciever cup to press it out with a press. i know u can hammer it out but that can be a pain in the azz. as noted above in the service bulletin link. i know there is a proper tool to remove it using a press, i am in search of the part number. i ordered the moog tool i listed above, but im trying to confirm that it is going to work. i will have it on thursday and let everyone know, but if anyone actually knows of the correct part number, that would be appreciated.

YES YES YES, FINALLY I FOUND THE CORRECT RECEIVER CUP PEOPLE. IT IS THE MOOG TOOL ABOVE!! T80541

cheapest place to get it

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/rafr...-T80541-821823

$110 but well worth it. u will need a balljoint press from otc to use it.

autozone one fits around balljoint but does not fit correctly in knuckle.
