well your estimate is a bit low....
spend whatever you want, its your money....but i guess you will never really know a difference, because i doubt you even will put these to use other than to cruise the streets....

might race eventualy but the car needs alot of work before that can even be considered. I probably wouldnt know the difference but I do like driving my car hard on local mountain roads. So which of the 2 I listed or one of equal price would be good. Basicly I want something better that stock and a good value. I know you can get alot better but there is a point you start paying 100s of dollars more for just alittle bit better.

Probably would be better to discribe them as hills than mountains. Roads are well paved and new, just lots of sharp turns and sudden hills.

Huh?
Tein HAs are just higher spring rates than the SS. And everyone I know who had them got tired of them b/c they are too harsh for real street driving.
If you are looking for value with the potential to expand into racing I would get Ground Controls with KYB AGX shocks. About 350 for the GCs & another 350 for the AGX. The best part about this setup is you can ditch the AGXs for Koni's when you get more serious. The Tein basic doesn't have an adjustable shock. With the AGX you get one, although it is only 4 settings. Better than none. And then of course when you are ready to up the spring rate you only need to buy ERS springs which are common and you can find them used.
PS... shocks will not stop or lessen understeering. Changing the springs will. But so will altering you driving line/style.

the thing about shocks with 10,000 settings is that how are you supposed to know which one to use specifically.. so why even bother. you might regret making the prelude's suspension too stiff cuz beleive me it can beat you up if you're driving crappy streets. edit: i never thought i had to pee so much in my life when i was using my old tein setup for daily driving

tein basics are junk, you are just paying for the name at that point. In my opinion its just a marketing gimmick, get the koni struts they simply are the best bang for your buck. Look in the sponsors forum they are going for 460 shipped
