Default Just installed RSR ExMag..

SO I just had my RSR ExMag installed along with a magnaflow 2" to 2.25" hi-flo cat from kteller. Im really pissed at ktell because they did not have the right flange on the cat. I told them 2 or three times to make sure that they have the right downpipe flange on the cat. I had to bring it up to a muffler shop and pay $160 just to have them weld the cat up to the header and install the cat-back for me. And now the tip of the mffler stick out past the bumper a good 2-3".

So on to my impressions of the RSR. Its WAY too quiet! Its not even the slightest bit louder than stock. I was looking for something a little louder. My car does run a little smoother since my cat was clogged.

I ran open header for less than a day but it was awesome. lol. I really liked it but it was WAY too loud.

So basically I just wasted close to $1000. Dont get me wrong, the RSR is a great peice, just too quiet for my tastes and I'm not even into loud exhaust. I just wanted a LITTLE something. I got nothing

Well I'm sure there's a lot of people that would take it off your hands... I'd recommend going with the GReddy EVO2. I had it on both my Eclipse and my current Prelude and love it. It sounds nice and deep but not too loud. The ExMag is a great sleeper exhaust, a lot of people like to paint the muffler itself with high heat black paint to make it look even less noticeable.

EDIT: Wow, I just noticed your from BR, I'll be willing to work out some kind of trade...

Are you looking for an RSR exmag? I just installed it today so its brand new. Im not really saying I dont like it but I kinda wish I would have went wit a electric cutout now since the sound of open header is freakin awesome. Maybe I can replace the hi-flow with a test pipe to get a little more noise.

I never really noticed any increase in volume when I installed my test pipe, just got a little raspy. Yea I would like to go to the ExMag because I'm working on turning mine into a somewhat sleeper. My EVO2 is a little less than a year old, but it looks great, one slight scrape but no dents or bends. Maybe we can trade and I'll throw in a little extra since mines a year older.

from my experience, brand new exhausts usually are a little quieter at first but eventually gain a little more sound. when i first bought my apexi ws2 i felt the same as you, its like i spent all that money for nothing, but eventually the sound got a more and more noticeable, now i love it. drive it for a while and maybe youll start noticing it, if not drive a lude with a stock exhaust and i bet youll see the difference.

I was hoping that it might get a little louder. And I did MONTHS of research before I picked this exhaus. I picked it b/c its quiet. I didnt know it was going to be the same as the stock exhaust that it replaced. Thanks for all the input guys!

Any one have any input on it sticking out past the rear bumper? I'm thinking of bringing it back to have the shortin the pipe a little bit.

Yeah but this is a chambered muffler, not a glass packed muffler. I dont see how the muffler could have a "break0in" period.
