Jdm P5m works without issue on Us BB6 Preludes
I recently bought and installed a Jdm P5m after some tweaking the thing worked! Needless to say I was shocked. So, for the folks who are having trouble with the immo and no starting as a result, the fix is simple.

a H22 ecu can run a H22, my mind = LOL j/k
Can it pass emissions US emissions testing on a jdm ecu? If so that would be great for those with immobilizer issues. If not then you would still have to have a usdm one.

I won't know for sure until I take it in for inspection later next year. My guess is it should pass. Both boards look identical except for a few components which must be moved around to get it to work.

Well good luck!
Would be cool if you did, what state do you live anyhow? Regulation are different else places. If you could pass California emissions I would give you props.
Would the same scanners work on the jdm ecu? That is the question to be answered.
Wouldn't the ecu be OBD0 and the scanners for OBD2?

Re: Jdm P5m works without issue on Us BB6 Preludes
I guess there are a few threads on this, found a few and some videos too. It looks like the jdm P5m just plugged strait into the usdm obd2 wire harness. I thought jdm was obdo, or obdo2 in this case and required a jumper...? Oh well, if you can pass you're states emissions and no red-key thats all that matters.
What has to be modded?

Re: Jdm P5m works without issue on Us BB6 Preludes
Unplugging the Egr did not trip the Cel so I unplugged the Vtec solenoid instead, it did trip the Cel. I tried the scanner again and it reads error. I then tried the service check connector with a jumper and it indicated code 21. An Obd2, Jdm P5m supposedly is setting Obd1 code which I find to be very strange. Theoretically, maybe this is why the scanner reads error.
