JDM H22A W/ Spun BEARING?!?!
i gotta 93 jdm h22a and i think ive gotten a spun bearing ive had this ratlling noise for a few weeks now and ive been reading threw some forms and from what i hear from the other guys is that when they rev there engines to about 2500 or more they can hear the rattling noise, once i rev my motor i hear it from like 1000 to about 2500 unless im warming up the kar sense my kar idles at 2500 while warming up i can hear the noise but when it gets warmer n the idle drops to about 850 900 rpm its just quite. When i drive it like ie. stop n go situation i would hear it on low rpm like around 1000 2000 rpm then it would just disapear n when i would shift into neutral u would hear a rattling when the rpm drops down form 2500 to about 1000. i duno its werid its backwards to wat everyone else is sayin and my car shuts off here n there but that sometimes. it happens when my a/c is on. i duno wat to do or wat it could be.im kinda guessing its a spun bearing. ive drained my oil before and ive checked it out and saw some metal shavings but my stupidity forgot to clean the drain bucket and those shavings could be from my sheetmetal work so i duno i need major help tho!!!!! oh yeah ive cheacked the oil dip stick and there wasnt any metal shavings or n e thing on it just oil of course.

andy.......lol
if you spun a rod bearing, you would know. Its not going to be an intermittent knocking sound. Get a video of it or something.

thats what i was thinking too?
you need to rev the car while you looking at the engine and figure out where the noise is coming from.

Re: JDM H22A W/ Spun BEARING?!?! (bluedlude)
this is what i found out just right now the noise is comming from the bottom of the block it only sounds when i rev it up to 1500. When im driving the noise starts up at 1500 and after 3500 u just dont hear it any more. I slowly accelerated and its the same outcome with the noise. is there another way i can test the engine out? with out taking or draining the oil pain cas i already did those. I'll get a video recording of it and see wat u guys think

Talk about a mis-diagnosis. My car is rattling so i'm gonna go ahead and tighten my o2 sensor and replace all my main and rod bearings. Hope one of these two things helps.

well... for mines i got a little curious about the noise and one of my good buddies said that it might be my exhaust. So when the noise came on usally when i start the engine i would hear the rattling. i just went to the back of my car and shook my muffler back and forth just a little bit then the noise just went away. So then i just jacked up my car and there it was a loose 02 sensor save me money and time
