Default I think I need an engine H23A1 to H23A3

Hey, I have a few questions about this swap, now the primary reason why I'm doing this swap is because I believe my current H23 has a problem that's probably better off replacing it. One thing is the annoying idle problem on another thread I have, but I think that's not a big issue and that's not why I'm swapping it. The engine has 211,000 miles on it, when I went to take off the cam caps the bolts were very loose, not knowing when I went back to torque them to specifications about 4 bolts were stripped, some on the intake, some on the exhaust, the bolts are tight but they just turn and turn, now It could also be the threads on the head. I got the head resurfaced and pressure checked, all good. When putting it back the engine ran like it did before, but this time no overheat issue, yay right? Hmm 4 days ago it overheated again, and it fluctuated just like it did before. It was all good for 2 weeks and out of no where it overheated again. The compression is still at 170 across just like last time. And yes the head was torqued down to spec and in sequence. Someone stated before it could be a crack in the block, or possibly the block is warped? I didn't even bother to check the warpage on the block. I also found oil on the top of all the pistons when I took out the plugs, btw valve seals were replaced also. I did a complete cooling system overhaul because I refused to believe it was the HG, now I think it's more serious, on top of that the engine runs poorly and sounds unhealthy, the valvetrain looks good and clean but it's very noisy even though the valves are adjusted. I'm gonna be getting a H23A3 from Hmotors in 2 weeks and do the swap a week later. I read I have to swap my intake manifold to the new engine? Also the dizzy because someone said the coil is internal in the A3. Would it be easier to remove the intake manifold to get to the back mount? Anything else I should know? Thanks in advance.

Should be pretty self explanatory once you have the new engine, just look at it all, and if there are any differences in things such as sensor plugs or how the dizzy is set up, swap the parts as needed from the old engine to the new one.

I prefer to pull the engine without taking the intake manifold off, as the bottom nuts are as much work as the one engine mount bolt, if not more.

Just go slow and steady and it should be fine.

On my a3 it appears that only the throttle body and the distributor were swapped over from an a1. I read somewhere that some vac lines were different but I'm not sure.

I've noticed the color of the ukdm/Aussie cast is a lighter grey than usdm/cdm cast.

Did you swap the throttle body because the one on the A3 was for an auto?

The car came with the engine already swapped when I bought it, and yeah it's an auto.
