I am SOOOO proud of my little Prelude!
I love my car!!! Earlier tonight I was cruising about 60 on the highway headed home. I spotted a newish Mustang ahead of me so I caught up and got next to him. Turns out it was a buddy of mine and his 2013 Coyote 5.0! He knew what was up, so we dropped it down to about 50 and let em rip. I knew I was gonna lose but I didn't expect my little H22A to put up the fight it did! It wasn't until about 110 when he actually pulled away!
Anyway, we pulled off on the next exit to bullshit a little and we were both impressed. Its a sure thing now, this car is getting boosted and next time he won't win...

Sometimes I leave my car in the wrong gear to give the other car a chance and make them feel special. Maybe your friend did that Sorry, just hard to believe the Mustang didn't pull away until 110. Not a fan of Mustangs, but those engines really are a lot better than an outdated h22.
PS, I have an H swap in my car and love it, so don't think I hate those engines

On another note, I know nothing about the engine in the car since it isn't the original. For all I know the internals were upgraded prior to installation in the car.
wowwwwwwwwwww man you're an ***
I don't think I'll boost this engine. I'm in the process of gathering parts for a G22 build. I snagged a running F22 VTEC for $200 and I'm in the process of getting a bare H22 head for $150. It'll be a work in progress and won't happen any time soon.

My 03 cobra would run a train length on my h22a4 swapped EG
BUT the EG will definitely beat a 99-04 GT or newer V6.
don't see how you would have stayed with the 410HP 5.0 especially with the close ratioed 6speed manual but close run i guess

I'll see if i can dig up some pics of the cars. One was an 88 GT hatch with a Vortech supercharged 408 stroker and the other was an 89 LX notch with a NA 532 stroker. The 88 ran a 9.89 and the 89 ran a 9.31. Sold em both in my divorce so I had the funds for a custody battle and so that bitch wouldn't get em.

Love that feeling! Haven't gotten to experience it in my own honda yet, but that's another story...
Honestly though, newer cars nowadays have so much high tech funk in there, a ton of horsepower doesn't do it them as much as it could. They're bloated high horsepower elephants racing our nimble cheetah-like preludes.

Trans Am's are no joke. A buddy of mine has an 02 WS6 and that thing is sick. He's put a ton of work into it and when he fires it up it'll rattle pictures off the wall.
Ahhh, there's noting quite like the lure of a thumping V8.

lol sure can get from gas station to gas station real quick! I can just imagine watching the gas needle drop as fast as the car moves....
Id love a V8 but would be a trailer queen.
Been looking into the Vipers 8.4L V10, thats a insane amount of displacement!

Even the smart eco v8's that shut down 2 cylinder are still firing 6 banks.
The Hybrid V8 automatic Chevy tahoe only gets 23 highway.
Around town stop and go driving hands down it eats more gas which is more often then not.

My last street driven Fox Body had a well built 347 stroker and a Tremec 5 speed and still managed 18 mpg in town and 28 on the highway, all while pushing 400 horses at the wheels.

Highway maybe i can see close to 30, but not so much in town. HIghways all you need ity a high top gear and anything will get great mileage. Its hard for people to judge true mpg, same reason I wont believe anybodies ***-dyno.
Car companies spend millions of dollars trying to make there cars more efficient, if it was that easy to get 30mpg and 20 in town with a v8 why are 4cylinders and imports so big? Because there not as great on gas period.
Alot of it comes down to the drivers foot, if your light on the gas with the v8 you may squeeze out a few extra mpg. If your hard on the 4 cylinder, asking it to compete power wise with the v8 it has to work twice as hard which uses twice the gas.
If I had 100 miles to go, two vehicles on empty and only 1 gallon of gas after which I had to walk the rest of the way. I would put the gas in the 4cylinder, not the v8 one. Why? because better gas mileage.
