^i guess i misunderstood your system, and didnt think that it is an open unit and can circulate....
the reason i decided to run one off the VC was because i noticed oil in my intake....
i'll go ahead and mess with it a little more to see where air is/isnt flowing.....i'll proabably end up changing it....

you're right, you definitely can get oil coming that way. That's why I put a breather on that side, so air can flow in or out easily. Then I check it for oil contamination every so often and replace if necessary.
the other option would be to put a separate catch can between th e vc and the intake, so the air can go both ways.

i had some extra tubing around and a connector so i decided to try it like this. wtf is up wtih the idle? my ***** jumping around now. i adjusted the idle screw and nothing. it definitely seems like a good idea to take away more pressure from the engine, but im thinking of switching it back if i cant get it to idle right

yeah there was a tad vac leak. found it. idle is just high now. its at 1.4k. doesnt lower either
but i think im experiencing the placebo cause it feels nice at high rpm's. lol maybe its in my mind

I would like to make a kit for this, it would involve the following:
Plugs for both the vc vent tube and the pcv hole.
Two 90* -6 an fittings and barbs to weld onto the VC
two 3ft lengths of -6 tubing
dual inlet can designed like Walter's
one outlet with stainless tubing to go to the exhaust
a slash cut fitting to weld into the header.
That way, you'd eliminate the intake system completely, and not breathe oil vapors anymore, and you'd get a GOOD amount of flow with both of those fittings, the slash cut supposedly pulls a good amount of air.

Re: (mgags7)
well i got the all the vac leaks and got the idle down...then my motor started makign this squeeking noise. didnt sound good at all really. popped off the pcv and it stopped makign the noise. so i put it back the way it was with just the pcv-catchcan-inlet. no noise again. i guess it'd be only good for moderately boosted cars (7lbs)

Just something I thought about, I don't really know if it would work or not. I know Matt has read about my oil problems lately, if I made a catchcan for my car (even though the bearings are shot, etc.) would this help determine where I was losing oil from? (As far as my rings are concerned with the blowby, or any other ways I could be losing oil that the catch can could pick it up...)
Just a thought?

If all u are doing is removing oil from the intake....why not just put a seperator/catch can....between the valve cover and the intake....that way it would remove the oil and still vent the crankcase....just a thought, unless im totally missing what these catch cans are about.

Re: How To: DIY PCV valve Breather/filter/Catch Can
but why would u route vacum line from the motor? all those fumes being evacuated are runnin right back into the motor causing the octane of your gas to b degraded. so when u think your running 91 your really runnin 87 and that there will cause detonation.
