hit curb, bent rear, replaced bent rear cross bar, better...what's next to check?
hit curb, bent rear drivers side wheel, replaced bent rear cross bar, got an alignment, it's better but the rear wheel is still bent where the bottom leans in slightly...what's next to check?
This picture shows the rotor and dust shield and you can see where there is a bigger gap at the top compared to the bottom
spindle or hub?

It's hard to say - for all we know the dust shield could just be bent.
But you are correct in thinking the spindle - the hub assembly sits on that and is a bit too short to imagine getting bent but isn't out of the question.
Check the spindle and if not - go down the line and onto the hub assembly, then knuckle, and lower control arm.

not sure if a new hub/spindle assembly would solve all issues. any other way to help determine which parts are bent?

Well, the rotor being displaced relative to the dust shield means that something on your spindle or the spindle itself is bent. The rotor and the dust shield both bolt on to the same part, so that part is probably bent (assuming the dust shield or rotor aren't bent).
Dust shield attaches to #10/11, and the hub/bearing goes on #10/11 then the rotor goes on the hub/bearing.

i just ordered a spindle assembly on eBay. not sure if i can just replace the spindle/hub or if i should just swap the parts.
the hub includes the arm that goes upward (not exactly sure what that part is called and how easy it is to replace)
Once that comes in i will take the old one apart and see what to replace.
thanks

Sounds like you ordered an entire knuckle with a spindle and wheel bearing already on it.
It's not hard to replace that entire piece (if that's what you ordered) just be sure to have some new cotter pins to put back in for the ball joints.
But just to confirm - why not just post a photo of what you just ordered?

Re: hit curb, bent rear, replaced bent rear cross bar, better...what's next to check?
Just got the part in the mail.
Here is a pic of it attached.
I started to wonder if the spindle was bent, wouldn't there be an issue with the brake caliper, or maybe that would bend with it.
I unboxed the part last night, gonna go take a closer look at things now.
Any insight or things to check out/possibilities please let me know.
Thanks HT

sidways.
it was wet, and i was going down a rode i hadn't gone down before and there was a pretty steep turn. I didn't know my rear tires had basically no tread. where the fronts had plenty of tread.
So here i am trying to see how to get this all fixed.

just jacked the car up. any tips on removing the spindle nut cap. i tried a flathead and a hammer. going back out and will try hitting it harder.

okay, just gonna try swapping the spindle/hub.
i took this part off the spare part by unbolting the 4 bolts in the back.
i did the same bolts for the spindle that is on the car, trying to knock the piece off now

okay, i've replaced the spindle/hub and things seem better.
i'll have to get an alignment to really know if everything is back to normal.

Hense the reason why the tires with the deepest tread should be on the rear EVEN ON A FWD CAR.
