Default H22a4 Swap

hey everyone, I have an h22a4 from a 99 prelude. It has the full harness for the engine dash and ecu. It also has the ecu. The transmission is still in place. This is going into a 92 prelude that is obd1. I am concerned about the ABS that will not match up to the new harness, will this cause the car to not run properly or just have an annoying CEL and no anti lock brakes? Also the dash equipment i have will be obd1 in a 92 prelude. Will the new h22a4 obd2 harness match up to the ignition and all the other accessories under the dash? In other words, if i drop the engine/trans in and replace the old obd1 harness with the one from the new obd2 h22a4 will the engine run? I could care less about if the dash would work off hand. Any help is much appreciated in advance. Thanks all.

several of these swaps have been done, but doing a motor swap doesn't bother with ABS at all since the wiring from the motor has nothing to do with the wiring for the brakes. Depending if you wanna keep it OBD1 or OBD2, you're gonna have to change out a few things on the motor such as the dizzy, oil pump, alt, motor harness, injectors, and I believe there's a couple of other things.

Thanks Bro i just noticed your post and im already done with the swap though lol. I do have one thing to say though....i researched for almost 8 months before i did this swap and researched while i was swapping it. Almost, if not everything, i read has turned out to be wrong. IDK wtf is up with some ppl but they shouldn't be allowed to share their retarded misinformation.

First off, the injector resistor box...I used an obd 1 ecu obd2 injectors and an obd 1 harness. I read everywhere you MUST remove the resistor box for it to run. In my case i couldnt run w/o that resistor box AND i have obd2 injectors, which are supposed to be saturated and not need a box to create resistance for them to pulse Right? Riiiight...lol

Another thing was the alternator. You DO NOT have to swap this to obd1, as far as i could tell all OBD1 and OBD2 use the EXACT same wring scheme. Cut the plug off the OBD2 harness and match EXACT wire colors to the plug you cut from the OBD1 harness. BOOM it works.

The oil pump...im using the h22a4 oil pump, no problems yet...lol idk w/e i was a little cornfuzed about it too.

The ecu...o man i was irate about this....ok look. If you cant afford a $200 ecu you can use your p14 with ZERO problems. You want VTEC???? buy a vtec controller Problem solved. This ties into the injectors too. p14, obd2 injectors, BOOM works just fine. Resistor box?? BOOM works just fine with it and not at all w/o it.

IDK what the box is that hook s to the dizzy, i believe thats a coil box(idk though like i said) i was told to change that too. Not the case im using the obd2 one and it works great. Just open the shielding on the harness and find the two wires that need to be extended to reach it since there is now a vtec solenoid in between them.

Various sensors like the MAP sensor. Once again i used the obd2 one. All you have to do is extend the wires one at a time to avoid crossing of the wires and screw that one on the firewall. I did however use the iab i think it is, thats next to the old map sensor on the firewall. The one that runs into the brake master cylinder reservoir.

I also read somewhere, idk if it was here or not, but one guy said that the fuel pump would not be strong enough to push fuel to the rail so the injectors from the h22a4 could deliver the fuel to the cylinder. ROFL that guy should be punched, very hard.

Im sure there is much more misinformation i am forgetting but you guys get the idea im sure. Im putting this on here to hopefully share some issues i had and the resolution i found that works the best for each situation.

If you are reading this and have any questions about an h22a4 swap into a 4g prelude please dont hesitate to post or pm me. If you post it gives me an email right away and i have a push email on my phone so ill get it as fast as a txt message. IDK what it does with a pm but anyway. I also have SOME pics and i can take them if need be so dont be afraid to ask. Even if this thread is old.

Time to my car now LATERS!
