Default G23 or boost h22?

Hey HT, i ended up getting myself a 4th gen prelude for pretty cheap with a jdm h22a and decent bolt ons for being in cali.

My question is should i spend the money and get the h22 built up and ready to boost? Or would it be a better investment to do a g23 swap and go NA for the time being and turbo sometime down the road. I want to use my lude for my cruiser but also to race a little on the side, nothing to extreme.

My h22 is nice but it just feels to heavy sometimes, i want some extra power and the g23 swap looks worthwhile for the meantime, and going turbo in the next 4-5 months. Let me know what you guys think at this time i'm looking more towards the g23 swap as of now

I assume you can get a v-tec motor for the same price as building up your h22 for turbo, but then you have to buy a turbo kit.
I guess your primary concern is money.

just boost the stock h22 you'll get the power you are looking for, you hear about alot of stock h22's blow up on boost but you dont have to worry about that if you do it right. just dont go past 11psi as you know the ringlands are weak on a h22. dont use a small turbo because the smaller the turbo the more psi you are going to need to flow the cfm the h22 needs.

Also The most important thing is being tuned. It is foolish to run boost not being tuned. A good tuned will ensure engine longevity.

surge is right at the end of the day you need a good tune specially if you boost the stock h22 like I did, its been boosted for two years now still running strong. right turbo setup and good tune you'll have no problem
