Default Engine Swap?

Hello everyone, I'm gonna get straight to the point I have some questions that I can't seem to find, here or I'm not looking in the right place.

I have a 95 Honda Prelude Si, with a JDM F22b DOHC. I snapped the timing belt, and bent 6-10 valves. So I decided to finally go ahead and go for an H22 this time.

My buddy has a h22 from a 5th Gen for dirt cheap, but my concern is changing from OBD1 to OBD2, or do I have to change to OBD2? If so what do I need parts wise?

Everything else I'm not worried about for swapping, any help would be greatly appreciated.

your car / harness is for OBD1 - run OBD1. you can run any honda engine with any honda ECU... its simple - search for the details but ill tell you you should run it as OBD1... much easier cause ur harness and stuff is obd1

You should run OBD-1.

You'll need a conversion wiring harness. As far as my knowledge goes, you should be using the OBD2A-OBD1 harness, which you can order from

Or try and contact him directly, he's very reputable and should be able to tell you exactly what you need, and how you need to do it.

Ive already done this. The only thing different in a obd1 and a obd2 h22 is that the obd2 has a CPS(crank position sensor). You DO NOT need a conversion harness to fix this! Its a simple fix just use a obd1 distributor. This will bypass the need for the CPS and fixes your problem because the obd1 dist dousnt look for it.

Hope you have fun with yours...I did... until my oil pump went out and slung a rod
